Holmgren

All i can say is it's pretty sad to only see one coach in the middle of the field after the game. I have no more respect for Holmgren because he didnt show one once of respect to Bill Cowher.

you didnt see bill out in the middle of the field with that look on his face...wheres mike? unless mike did the handshake behind the so called scenes.

i felt bad for holmgren because he just lost the super bowl. I think it's a stupid way to lose respect for someone because they had some unwanted emotions. Sure, it would've been a nice gesture and show of respect, but just because they didn't shake hands doeesn't mean that holmgren has no respect for cowher. I guess you could say the same thing about Joe gibbs after that first dallas game in 2004, where he barely even looked parcells way before walking away.

Re: Holmgren

I'm sure the two coaches will have words behind the scenes... if they didn't share a handshake at midfield who cares.

Re: Holmgren

holmgren was prolly to buisy chasing the refs with a knife. if i was a hawks fan i'd be extremely pissed. that officiating was as one sided as i've ever seen. it felt like i was watching the skins vs. pitt. it was so bad.

Re: Holmgren

its common courtesy to shake hands, its disrespectful not to i dont care if they just lost the super bowl. kinda like college basketball, after the game u shake hands, if one coach just ran off that would be pretty low

Re: Holmgren

it is a show of respect to the other coach to shake hands. Players do it after the game, and coaches have always done it. Its far more offensive to not do it after a Super Bowl win. I thought it was a classless move and Coher looked like he was really pissed. I am sure something will come out in a day or two.

the game sucked anyway. One of the worst Super Bowls from start to finish. The pregame shows, half time show, all of it was pretty forgetable.

Re: Holmgren

If I coached as poorly as Holmgren did last night I would have wanted to get off the field as quickly as possible too! He's probably embarrased to show his face!

Re: Holmgren

I know "The Ego" would ban all threads discussing handshakes if he could, but maybe we can put this one to rest as moot:

And, finally, on Cowher. The Jaw got an NFL title in his 14th season as Pittsburgh's coach, the longest tenure in the NFL. The tough guy, who lost his only previous Super Bowl 10 years ago to Dallas, teared up as he walked to midfield, Terrible Towels waving everywhere around him, and embraced Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren.

Both coaches have mad respect for the other. I found it hard to believe either one would purposefully disrespect the other.

I find it even harder to believe that people get so crazy about postgame handshakes.

I was just kidding - I didn't see this one as an issue, especially, as you said, given the great respect between these two. But, it seems that it really isn't an issue since they did see each other after the game.

I wasn't singling you out, I'm just talking in general people get so freaked out about the postgame handshakes. It's pretty comical.

Re: Holmgren

I would refer everyone to post #10. If that article is wrong, then fine - point it out. However, it says Holmgren and Cowher met up, so this is really a non-issue.
