Twiddling Thumbs...

So, judging by the high volume of traffic during a work day... is anyone else just killing time and waiting desperately for a redskin's cut list to be posted?

anyone else besides me that is. I really need to know how bad we're supposed to be next year...

Think positive, That Guy. If we do shed a bunch of guys, hopefully it will provide Gibbs, Saunders, and Williams the chance to mold some young'ns into shape and really show what they can do.

As long as we're not cutting anyone named Jon Jansen, Randy Thomas, or Marcus Washington, I think we can be OK. We'll have to cut a bunch of valuable special teamers, but having Saunders in the fold allows Gibbs to focus on coaching special teams.

I know that's a weak argument, but damnit, I'll be damned if I'm not going to see the glass half full!!!

Yeah, who cares if Portis, Taylor, Brunell, Samuels, Moss, Springs and Cooley are cut? We can easily fill those positions with role players...

I'm skipping class to sit by the computer. I'm going to be here until the cuts are made at 10pm tonight.

Fortunately, I planned ahead and did this week's assignments last week so I could take some time off. I would like to be on break though, so I don't miss classes.

the number is the savings (in thousands). a rookie costs 235k minimum. anyone that' sasve us less than that by being cut is safe:

Chris Cooley $221
Taylor Jacobs $117
Manuel White Jr. $97

Mark Brunell $-300
Cornelius Griffin $-650
Randy Thomas $-736
LaVar Arrington $-840
Shawn Springs $-1,275
Clinton Portis $-2,247
Jason Campbell $-2,781
Sean Taylor $-3,690
Santana Moss $-5,140
Carlos Rogers $-6,807

in addition, brunell's restructure would increase the penalty for dropping him (drastically) and also assures that jansen (800k), samuels (300k), and washinton (500k) can stay (since they're the 3 most important on the to be cut list). Jansen, thomas, and Samuels also can restructure, which would make keeping them more important since they can provide additional cap relief.
