Redskins Notes (3/22)

Redskins | Team still under the salary cap
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 22:44:46 -0800
David Elfin, of the Washington Times, reports after numerous signings and contract changes, the Washington Redskins' salary cap number is at $97.574 million, leaving $4.426 million to spend on signing their draft picks and filling other needs.

Redskins | Team will visit with K. Wright
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 22:35:22 -0800
David Elfin, of the Washington Times, reports the Washington Redskins will visit with free agent CB Kenny Wright (Jaguars) Wednesday, March 22.

so if we want to sign lloyd (1.5-2mill), 3 backups and a #2 with some low picks, someone is probably going to have to restructure.

K Wright is 6'1" and a good tackling CB. not a blazer, but he'd be a good #3.

Lloyd is already signed for this year... they're trying to sign him to an extension.

The problem with Walt Harris wasn't tackling, it was with pass coverage.

thats what i meant. I doubt they're going to leave him on a one year deal though unless they REALLY have questions about his character (and if they did, why give up draft picks for him?)

Re: Redskins Notes (3/22)

The Skins don't need much money for draft picks. They will need to spend some on their #2, but then they jump to 4's 5's and 6 round picks. Some of those late round picks won't make the team anyway. They are in good shape. I would think they are looking at how they can keep costs down on what will be back-ups at this point.

no problem they're in the FA thread, but i figure people don't read those, so redskin stuff should get a bit more attention.

That Guy, thanks for setting me straight on our picks. Wow, our coaches don't even need to show up much on that first day (Saturday) of the draft. Maybe we can trade that 2nd round pick for a good OLB or OL and then they can take the day off and wait for Sunday!

Man I wish Ty Law would switch agents, I would love to see him as the Nickle or in a rotation with the other corners. He is physical and fits right into the scheme that we play.

Too badd it won't happen

I can definitely see us trading some of those picks to move up a bit.

law wants a LOT of money and he's still a #1, no way he'd agree to come in and play a nickel corner.
