Mel Kiper on the Skins 2nd Rounder
From the chat on ESPN.com that just ended:
Chris (Richmond, VA) Do you think the Redskins will trade there 2nd round pick for a DE,CB or will they keep it? MEL KIPER I think if it falls this way if they get Rocky MacIntosh. That would be a nice pick for them. If he did slide down to 53 that would be nice. John Austin, Thomas Howard would be good picks if MacIntosh isn't there. They don't have a third or fourth round pick either. They only have a second round pick in the first four rounds. |

Im not a big fan of Rocky. If there is any lobbying going on for "U" players I hope its Kelly Jennings.

How about next year's first and this year's second to move into the first? I WOULDN'T be for it, but it could easily happen.

Re: Mel Kiper on the Skins 2nd Rounder
I would second that if everyone else did it.
Honestly, I think that's a pretty crappy idea altogether. Why not let the kids go to which team they WANT. I know that sounds very Eli-esque, but I think it would be pretty bad ass if they teams that had the cap space could sign the best rookies.

I think we may make some sort of move to draft Dqwell Jackson, also I've heard we've been monitoring what Jai out of George Mason is going to do if he doesn't play in the NBA

Re: Mel Kiper on the Skins 2nd Rounder
I doubt we'd use any type of draft pick on him though.

Re: Mel Kiper on the Skins 2nd Rounder
I say we ship our 2nd rounder to Dallas for 5 of their cheerleaders + Crazy Ray.

Strengths: Outstanding athletic ability...Has great speed and quickness with a burst to close...Can make plays sideline-to-sideline due to his range...Playmaker who is always around the action...Good tackler...Has a knack for making stops behind the line of scrimmage...Versatile...A leader on and off the field...Hard worker who is smart and mature...Has some upside if he can stay healthy and on the field. Weaknesses: Inconsistent and doesn't always play up to his talent...Takes bad angles...Is only average in coverage...Needs to get stronger...Relies heavily on his athleticism to recover from mistakes...Can be too aggressive at times...Has dealt with knee, shoulder and back injuries...Does not really have a ton of starting experience. Notes: Could project to either outside or inside linebacker at the pro level...The recent success of other Miami linebackers such as Jonathan Vilma and D.J. Williams in the NFL sure won't hurt his cause...Seemingly has all the physical tools you look for.
