coping with the loss of sean

the past week for me has been a dark rainy one. (Figureativley and Literally)
the rain started on monday coincidently and ended this past friday. the whole week the only thing on my mind was Sean Taylor and the HUGE loss i had felt. watching all the tribute videos brought tears to my eyes almost every time. then on Saturday the rain stopped. i realized Sean didnt go in vain. he died protecting his Family and his Home. A death we should all be so lucky to confront. he died a hero. He past with a clean slate and a lot of love. if there was ever a good way to die i think this would be it. he was killled in his own home (which is wrong on soooo many levels) but he was in a place he loved. he was with the Ones he loved. and he died protecting the ones he loved. basically what im saying is he died a very tragic death but his sacrafice saved the lives of the things he held dear to him. imagine if he hadnt been there. it may have been his wife and baby girl dead. i think if Sean could go back. he would still grab the machete and make a stand.
SEAN TAYLOR IS A HERO
GOD BLESS YOU SEAN. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE

Re: coping with the loss of sean

I agree bro.
Many of us have good times in our lives, or do good things at times but I think we all have a fear of "Checking out and passing away.

Everyone would want to "go out" well. Some folks die fast and some slow in lots of suffering. I have to say even with my faith which I feel is very strong I want to "go out" well. I don't want to go out in pain or in tears I would want to go out strong.

As a Gunt I was trained to kill and be killed...gloriously.

If you break into my house I have a shot gun and we'll see who "goes out" well or not.

Sean went out about the best way a "MAN" can go out. IMHO

RIP #21

Yeah, I'm glad they didn't' just find his girlfriend and daughter in the house. That would've been truly devastating and I'm sure Sean was happy to lay down his life protecting his family. I would be.

I used to imagine doing something heroic like that when I was younger... being a true hero to the ones I loved.... He actually did it.

When the killer tried the door knob for the first time and it was locked what did they do? Bust it in. They had intent to do harm to either his lady and child or someone.

I hate "what if's" but what if they didn't have a gun? He'd a beat they ass or worse....then be Charged for wounding. lol sad but true. Ever wonder why he didn"t have a GUN?

HERO in my book too.
I hope and pray I go out well. Not violent like this but with dignity.

Sean Taylor gets ALL my respect as a Man.
RIP and like Chief Z said "See ya when I get there"

Re: coping with the loss of sean

Well SBF, he didn't have a gun because he wasn't allowed to as a condition of the probation from the prior firearms case.

Just imagine, though, what could have happened had he had a gun. A situation which might have been (temporarily) better for Redskins fans and an even bigger tragedy to Sean Taylor: his girlfriend and daughter could have been killed.

Any man with a family would rather go down to a bullet than see it happen to his family. We as fans (and especially as people who didn't even really know the man) have to remember we're being extremely selfish when we grieve and regret his loss.

Maybe Reed Doughty will make enough money this year to set his son's medical procedures up for life, who knows? Maybe Sean's death will startle and scare a whole slew of budding wanna-be thugs like the ones who murdered him, to put down the guns and straighten out their lives.

Sean died a heroic death indeed. Too bad most idiots in the media refuse to acknowledge that simple truth.

Personally, I'm feeling a good measure of anger at the knuckleheads who snuffed out such a promising life. Sean was a true bright light for his family, friends, and fans.
