Ray Lewis' pregame speech

Ray Lewis' pregame speech to his fellow team mates from the U (Ed Reed and Willis McGahee) was something like "Sean is the only thing we are playing for tonight. He is family. Let's do it for number 21." It was a real class act.

All three played an inspired game. It's a shame that Rex Ryan had to overcoach and call the timeout right as the Ravens D was blowing up the Pats last chance on 4th and 1.

Re: Ray Lewis' pregame speech

What a game the all had ... and gave a good tribute to Sean Taylor ... the Pats were totally outplayed and got absolutely lucky all game.

I expect the 'Skins to come out with the same intensity against the Bears ... all the emotions will still be running high after the funeral.

LaVar Arrington
Devin Hester
Jeremy Shockey
Reggie Wayne
Julius Peppers
Frank Gore
Plaxico Burress
Chad Johnson
Artel Rolle
The entire Miami University
and the 'Skins
etc...

What a bunch of classy individuals

I thought only the head coach could call timeout, not any assistant coach

Ray Lewis knew Sean played with the same intensity that he does.
Great to see that!!!!!1

Ya I'm not a huge Ray Lewis fan because he did murder someone but there was a shot of him crying before the game about sean taylor and he had a hell of a game so I respect him for that.

That's the way I understood it too. The announcers never talked about but I am pretty sure during the Skins game after Joe called the 2nd TO that those commentators said only the Head coach and the players on the field can call a TO.

I was under that assumption too, but ESPN clearly highlighted Rex Ryan calling the timeout during that 4th & 1 play.

And Lewis' comments were touching. The entire Ravens team played out of their minds last night. They had me glued to the TV, watching two teams that I despise, until the very end...

Re: Ray Lewis' pregame speech

Sorry to say it, but I see a complete flat team this week. I think the Bears beat them easily and the skins come out lifeless. Playoffs are shot, momentum is shot, and the team, it appears, did not even ask to move this game back, which would have been sensible. The crowd will be miniscule. This season cannot end fast enough. Take the Bears, give the points.

The only thing I would look less forward to than going to this game is having to hear Bryant Gumble narrate it.

I dont even think the ref even looked over to see who called it either, he was watching the line and just blew his whistle when someone came up screaming for a timeout. You would think that if it was only allowed to be a head coach he would have at least glanced over at who was calling for it.

When did he murder someone? I think the media mislead a few people on his case. Just in the same way they did with sean's case.

Peter King addressed that today on SI.com...The head coach is responsible for his sideline so even though the head coach is supposed to be the one to call the TO it's not up to the official to determine if the TO is coming from the Head Coach or not. Basically the NFL's stance is it's like tough sh*t Billick keep your assistants in line...
