Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
Assuming the picks stay the same (i.e. no trades are made) who should the Skins pick in rounds 3,5,6, and 7? Remember we don't have a 4th round pick

This formula should lend to less repetitive discussion, and free up the board for non-draft related threads.............Thanks Smack!! |

Round 3: Roy Sheuning, G, Oregon State
Round 5: Owen Schmitt, FB, West Virginia (Please, let him drop that far.) Round 6: Al Phillips, CB, Wagner (Here's my reach but 17 career INTs. Could he surprise like Reed Doughty?) Round 7: Sammie Stroughter, WR, Oregon State |

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Drafts Predictions (Rounds 3-7)
Round 3: Shawn Crable, DE/OLB, Michigan - Can be a pass rush specialist for us. Has a
big frame, so he can always get bigger to be a full time DE. Can play OLB is Rocky regresses. Round 5: Duane Brown, T, Virginia Tech - A Former tight end who is light on his feet, young, and highly coachable Round 6: Chris Horton, S, UCLA - Solid player who rarely makes mistakes, and can develop into good competition for the starting SS spot Round 7: Rudolph Hardy, DE, Howard - from my alma mater, according to NFL draft scout, he led the MEAC and the nation in tackles for loss with 25.5. He can pay big dividends if we snag him up late or Steve Johnson, WR, Kentucky - I dont think he will be here after the combine, but as of right now he is projected as a 7th round pick

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Drafts Predictions (Rounds 3-7)
first, three INSANELY useful links:
full stats, straight from the ncaa database (div1/div2): Ranking Summary Ranking Summary most accurate individual rankings 2008 NFL Draft Scout, From Prep to Pro Coverage for Pros by Pros -- Powered by the Sports Xchange most comprehensive mock aggregator 2008 NFL Mock Draft Database 3rd - trevor laws DT notre dame (114 tackles at DT last year) 5th - Darnell Terrell CB missouri 6th - keith brandon OT/OG northern iowa OR chris mcduffie OG clemson 7th - marcus monk 6'6" WR arkansas (had 962 yards junior year, surgery beginning of senior season... great blocker). UDFA - brandon coutu K georgia dexter jackson WR appalchian st (4.32 5'09") is another guy to watch in the 5-6 range, as well as darius reynaud WR west virginia 5'10" 4.47 in the 6th. in the 3rd a guy like tom zbikowski SS notre dame could provide a good upgrade on teams and as a starter, though he'd still only be an average SS. dre moore (DT maryland) or brandon albert (OG virginia) would be good picks here too. |

I like the Monk pick in the 7th. He could be a bargain if he is there. What do yo u think about Rudolph Hardy from Howard. Look at his info and let me know what you think about taking him at the 7th/FA. If you could do that, then who would you take in the third, and would that change the overal make-up of your day two picks?

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
I've edited the title in the thread (and in the Day One) thread, changing "Prediction" to "Selection" just to clarify that this is who you would draft if in charge.

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)
By the way, I made a mistake. We do have a 4th round pick this year
REPEAT: WE DO HAVE A 4th ROUND PICK IN 2008 I got the parameters of the Kendall trade confused, we're giving up a 2009 4th rounder for Kendall. And I think most draft boards did as well So everyone revise your draft to include a 4th rounder Covering The Redskins: February 16-- Cerrato sheds light on off-season direction for Skins ESPN - Jets' Kendall dealt to Redskins for mid-round draft pick - NFL

Assuming we picked either Reggie Smith or Cromartie in the 1st and Chis Williams with the 2nd... And we addressed another receiver in FA (Wilford?) and HOPEFULLY knabed Antwoin Odom (Ten Titans)... 3rd Round: Marcus Griffin (S - Texas) or Craig Steltz (S - LSU) 4th Round: Mike McGlynn (OG - Pitt) 5th Round: Maurice Purify (WR - Nebraska) or Dennis Dixon (QB - Oregon) 6th Round: Kellen Davis (TE - Michigan St) 7th Round: Xavier Lee (QB - FSU *If we did not take Dixon) or Johnny DIngle (DT/DE - WVU) RFA's... Jonathan Wilhite (CB - Auburn), Josh Thompson (DT - Auburn), Malik Jackson (OLB - Louisville), Alley Broussard (RB - Mizz Southern FORMERLY the starter @ LSU), or Bejarvis Green (RB - Ole Miss)... |
