I didn't want to start another thread but this is pretty cool.

We should go there and relocate their people, take their land and exploit their resources.
Unless people havent evolved yet and then we would have a big ass Jurassic Park.

Yes, just as soon as you invent wormhole travel technology. The fate of the world rests on your shoulder FD. Don't let us down!

Damn you can't even give a man 2 shoulders to rest the fate of the world on? Or is this some sort of physical limitation that I am not aware of yet?

The math says there's life on other planet. Us being the only life in the universe is absurd!

if a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound?

if a person lives on a planet 300 light years from earth, does it matter to us?

I still think it would be pretty cool to find out that there is another world just like ours.

Agreed, and I agree with CRedskins. Communication is difficult

And aliens have seemingly moved on from black and white tv's, making it even more difficult

Fortunately, we've already got an ambassador lined up for peaceful discussions.

By the time we create the technology to get us there I certainly hope we don't care about oil as an energy source.

It does if they can travel at the speed of light and kick our ass.

Maybe we'll invent the combustible engine warp drive and use all our oil in one shot trying to get there. Hopefully they have a gas station where we can fill up to get home. Otherwise we're screwed.

I disagree with the possible appointment. I feel that the ambassador of Earth should be American considering that by the time we get there Earth will be United Planet of Americuh. The only other country will be Israel due to the large population of Jews in Hollywood that are controlling the hearts and minds of American's through television.
