A good thought for this weekend's game

I'm heading out to Las Vegas for the weekend so I'll see all the games - as long as I remain upright and conscious...

With the Skins looking at four consecutive losses and a visit to Chicago, I thought this item from today's LA Times would be something for the folks here to keep in mind:

"On this day in 1945, the Chicago Cardinals ended the longest losing streak in NFL history at 29 games with a 16-7 victory over the Chicago Bears."

The Skins' losing streak only feels like 29 games...

Have fun and don't forget to ask for free drink tickets when you place at bet at a sportsbook.

I have "frequent bettor cards" earning me "comps" at three different sports books. At one place, I've achieved "MVP status"; that's "Most Valuable Player" as in "Player of the Odds".

Trust me, getting the free drink tickets is something I acclimated to about 25 years ago.

Begging the question: why would ANY team keep the cursed name "Cardinals"?

Have fun Sports. I won't ask who you're betting on, given your other recent post, but I don't think the skins is a total homer bet this time.

Right on Sports! MVP is quite an honor.

How much do you have to lose to be considered mvp

It's not how much you lose; it's how much you wager. You get "point" for each wager you make. You get bonus points for betting parlays and things like that but you get the same number of points awarded whether or not you win or lose. Ultimately you can cash in the "points" for things like shows or buffet dinners or discounted prices for a room or a room upgrade or a free massage in the spa or that kind of stuff.

Actually, I plan to take the Skins over the Bears in a pick'em game this week because I think the Skins defense will shut down Jonathan "The Mighty" Quinn. Check out my Mythical PIcks on my website and you'll see that is one of the picks. I will NOT be making many of the wagers in Mythical Picks because the premise there is to bet the same amount of money on every game. That, my friends, is a ticket to the poor-house.

Unless one of my companions does a good job of talking me out of it, I really like the Vikings this week over the Saints.

Sports. you are constantly going to Vegas. Partially I'm jealous, but I'm glad I don't or I'd have to hitchhike back!

Enjoy yourself, and god I hope we end up nothing like the Cardinals.

Actually, I only go once a year on a regular basis. Every October I travel out there with a set group of friends.

Sometimes, we are able to squeeze in a trip out there during March Madness but that is a "once-in-a-while" thing.

Then every once in a while, the Good Lord gives me a fastball down the middle and provides me with a business reason to go there "professionally". I never turn down those kinds of opportunities!
