Peter King on Mighty 1090 in San Diego
Every Monday King comes on 1090 and he was in Chicago this weekend. Highlights of the conversation:
1. Best D in NFL. Awesome secondary that turned finesse DB's into hitters. 2. Portis- best individual single game performance this year. On pace for 408 carries. 375 was the previous high # of carriers for a Gibbs back. 3. After the game, Gibbs told him that he didn't know if he could do it, didn't know if he could turn it around but this is where he needed to be right now. C'mon Joe..don't lose the faith. When the passes start connecting then the Skinsare going to roll. Hail. |

Gibbs isn't losing faith, he's just being modest. He's not the type of guy to say, "I'll turn it around, just wait." He's not the type to quit after dabbling a bit. Knowing his type of personality, adversity only makes him more determined.
Isn't it great that the press is now much more 'Skins friendly now that Gibbs is back (Gibbs is like Santa, everyone loves him). Thanks for the post/info. |

The ravens give up a lot of yards.

When looking at our D and how dominating it is, you have to remember that this is without Arrington, Barrow, Lott, Bowen, Salavea etc...
I'd like to see the Ravens without Lewis and Suggs. I think there would be a big difference. I'm not saying we're Raven caliber yet (almost) but we're deeper thatn them for sure. |

Our D is playing great with out key players, but I do not understand how we can say Barrow in the same list as Arrington, Bowen, Lott.... I mean Barrow might be good but we have not seen nothing yet out of him, I understand that he is injured, but we never had him play a regular season game to say that we are still playing great with out him.

Barrow is a monster and even though (as you rightly point out) he hasn't done anything for us yet, he will be a great MLB if he plays anything like he did last year.

I hope so, I mean if he does come in and have a season like last year, and a healthy Arrington, I can not see our D giving up alot of points to any offense.
I have read that we have not faced a very balanced offense and that our next game against GB might be our first test against a well balanced offense. That may be true but I can not imagine A. Green running on us, which would make GB 1 diminsional and we all seen how good green bay is when they have to rely on brett this season.

Our D hasn't had any major challenges yet but it has not lost us any games. Giving up less than 10 points every game so far is increadable unfortunatly unlike the Dilfer Ravens our offense is uninspiring and giving up major points enough to lose us a the game on 4 of 6 occasions.
I am not sure how we will stack up against the likes of Green Bay and the Eagles but we get to go into the bye very positivly on oneside of the ball at least |

Our D will get better in 2 weeks. Lavar back, Barrow will probably finally play a little. Daniels back. Williams w/ 2 weeks to plan.
Gibbs will coach us better in 2 weeks. Portis will run. But Brunell will throw the ball on GB. Or atleast try. I agree with Gibbs to keep Brunell in even though I've called for Ramsey to start. GB game will determine Redskins season. Ramsey will start if we continue to lose, but I do think that Gibbs and the Redskins players will not let this season slide. It'll be hard to beat PHI but we hit them at our best time. Full D minus Bowen. Don't count us out yet! IN GIBBS WE TRUST!

GB has a weak secondary, if brunell can't pass on them, gibbs really needs to re-evaluate what we're trying to do this season... |
