Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III

I dont know what he's got against Lavar. Why he hates him so bad.

I get that he's upset at Lavar for speaking at ST's funeral. I thought it was a classy thing to do. I think Portis is selfish. he didnt want anybody to be close to ST but him.

And LaVar throwing a pie at ST was meant to be a joke. And Portis said he was gonna jump Lavar over it. Good thing he didnt. LaVar would have beat the crap out of him. Mike Sellars almost did last season...Man Portis is such a punk.

How has this guy not had a locker room beatdown yet? Are the skins players that apathetic??

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III

LaVar runs his mouth too much just like Portis. As SS has said in the past they're more alike than they realize.

It also seems from what he's saying that ST wasn't a huge fan of LaVar either.

LaVar wasn't exactly the most popular guy in the locker room either when he played.

I must say, when it happened it seemed to come out of nowhere that LaVar spoke at ST's funeral.

I can certainly understand CP not being happy with the scene LaVar put up at the funeral. If Sean and LaVar weren't genuine friends, and it seems that they were not, you certainly have to question what LaVar's motive was.

This is why I just wanted to be rid of CP and his big mouth drama. Everything he said is probably true about Taylor not being friends with Lavar, but why do we need all this dredged up? Every week it's something new with him...it's going to be really hard to completely change the culture and start fresh with him still around flapping that big mouth of his.

It would be nice if I could understand what CP is even talking about most of the time.

Anyone who understands human reactions could readily see how upset Sean was at the pie incident. As a result of that incident which obviously Sean didn't like, I can understand where CP was coming from in reference to LaVar speaking so fondly and emotionally about him at his funeral......CP suggesting maybe LaVar was staging?

Well, he was asked about it. I almost have to take fault with the interviewer who in all likelihood knew that mentioning LaVar was going to bring a "juicy" response.

Re: Clinton Portis Interview-Part III

Didn't Pedro Taylor ask LaVar to speak at the funeral? I mean for the most part, if someones father asked you to speak at a funeral, I'd have a pretty hard time saying no. I dont think he'd ask him to speak if there was no type of relationship there between LaVar and Sean. (That statement could be wrong, but I thought that it was Pedro that asked him to speak). I mean Portis has these feelings for a reason too, and he knew Sean better than maybe anyone at the time of his death (including his father). Again thats all on perception, so I dont have a fact to back that up, its just kinda how I saw it.

Not that I'm picking sides in this Lavar Portis thing, because half the time I agree with Lavar and the other half of the time I agree with Portis. The one thing I am sure of though, I want them both to just STFU. I dont want to hear about this crap between two FORMER teamates. This doesnt impact the Redskins at all at this piont, and this rivarly between a member of the media (Lavar) and a Redskin (Portis) is just unprofessional and stupid.

Finally, in terms of Sean Taylor. Can we just stop talking about him now with all this petty stupid sh*t. I will litterally go on for days with anyone who wants to talk about the plays he made, and the memories he gave us, and how much different our team could be with him on it right now... however, I dont care where the man's locker is, I dont care who did or did not speak at his funeral and if people are mad about it now. Just let the man rest in peace. The Redskins did a great job in handling the tribute to him, I still miss the hell out of that guy and for some reason felt a personal type connection with him that I havent with any other Redskin, I dont know if it was meeting him or what it was, but he's in the Ring of Honor, and he'll live in Redskins history forever. I am just sick of hearing about him regarding crap like this. Not that I blame Portis for having some feelings about his friend, but does this really need to be talked about now?

As long as there are media types around that love to provoke controversial issues, people like Clinton Portis & LaVar Arrington around to continue fueling them, they'll always find a way into discussion.

I agree with the fact the topic should no longer be an issue, but Sean ike so many others who are gone but will never be forgotten or allowed to RIP will forever spark our conscience to remember.

It could have been that Pedro Taylor was not aware of any friction that may have existed between Sean and LaVar at the time of his asking.
