The Best Things About Summer
I stopped at one of those stands on the side of the road Saturday and picked up some sweet corn, peaches, and a few tomatoes. Nothing better then the fresh fruit and vegetable's of summer. The sweet corn was so good it did not even need butter and the peaches were so juicy I just grabbed a whole roll of paper towels. Will try the tomatoes to night with our BLT"S.

Definitely. Road side stands and farmer's markets are awesome.

I'm at work now, so I full expected that I would have to quickly close firefox as soon as I opened this thread. You fooled me again FD.

Re: The Best Things About Summer
I think I tend to gain weight in the summer, even though I am more active I get off my usually gym schedule. Anyways staying on track I have to say a cold beer on a hot afternoon and bikinis.

Re: The Best Things About Summer
Best thing for me was having my kids here. They left this weekend, and really, could do without these next few days adjusting back to life without them.

Re: The Best Things About Summer
Yeah, they had to get up with me at 5:30 and go to work for a couple hours most days I can see their end of summer stories: What I did this summer- This summer my dad made me file papers at 630 in the morning 3 days a week, and when we didn't do that Grandma took us to the mall.
LOL No it was all good, my middle son is now firmly a Monty Python Holy Grail fan, and my daughter in one week did more damage to my shoulders than work in the last year. Seriously GOOD TIMES, and I am sure they will remember those the most. I will add my vote to those who have said bikinis as well! |

Nothing like a cruise on the boat after 6 when the sun is starting to set and a few cold beers.

Re: The Best Things About Summer
Nothing like a garden tomato and a cold beer after doing a bunch of yard work. I am generally a cold weather fan myself but as a teacher I do love the summer.
