Matty:
I like your picks but I do think that the Colts will score more than 31 on the Bronx. This one could be ugly if the Bronx don't do some scoring of their own because I think Indy might hang 44 on that defense.

Colts, Chargers, Rams, and *shock* Vikings (maybe they'll finally stop choking).

I will take the Chargers (too good a year, playing at home), the Seahawks (this one they will want more than the Rams), the Colts (too much offense), and the Packers (the Vikings are "feeling mighty low" as that construction guy said in the Bugs Bunny cartoon)

I like all the home teams with the exception of green Bay. I think that the dog Vikings are going to roll in there with nothing to lose and upset the Packers. Both of the regular season games were very close. This is a tossup game and I am not sure that Green Bay is good enough to win 3 straight from the Vikes.
I think the most important thing about this weekend is getting the Eagles the toughest matchup possible next week. I don't want them playing Saint Louis who they will destroy. Minnesotta would give them the biggest scare with thier offensive firepower. Second would be Seattle but I would only give them a little bit better shot than the Rams. Green Bay would play Atlanta with a win so they don't Matter. I hate the Eagles and my biggest concern left is seeing them lose... |

Playoffs Week One
First off, love the site and I'm glad I get to join. There's not Skins, much less NFL talk here in ACC land.
As for the games themselves: 1. St. Louis vs. Seattle- Ugh. The flop bowl. How will Martz screw this one up? Can Seattle win when its best WR is Jerry "fork in my back" Rice? I'll go with the Rams when Matrz remembers to run all day long. 2. Minnesota vs. Green Bay: Vikings back in, and the Packers are ready for the annual "win one game to get everyone on the Favre is God bandwagon, then he collapses next week" tradition, so gimme the Packers. 3. NY vs. San Diego: Pennington was a Rhodes Scholar finalist? The Chargers will have the "privilege" of beating him. 4. Broncos vs. Colts: Different year, same score. Colts win big.

Seahawks v Rams: I'll take the Rams because they are on a little roll and have beaten the Seahawks already twice. Either way the winner is going down in round 2.
Vikings @ Packers: Gimme the Packers for this one, at home, Vikings reeling. Shouldnt be hard. Broncos @ Colts: yea-right. The Colts are going to embaress them again I would presume. I'm excited to see Champ play though, we'll see the shutdown corner at work. Maybe after watching Champ get embaressed, Smoot will sign! Jets @ Chargers: This is the only game I think could be close, but I like the Chargers at home to beat the Jets.

Seahawks: Underestimated and Holmgren may be fighting for his job.
Packers: Ultimately, who cares? But the Vikes are emotionally drained, absolutely flat, and outside. Colts: We're going to see the back of Champs jersey a lot this weekend. Chargers vs Jets. Chargers Offense > Jets D. Jets O isn't explosive enough. SD tears them up with a Gates mismatch and LT. |
