Late Round Pick?
http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/pla...lexholmes.html
Not a USC fan, but this guy is huge and could be the exention to the Offensive Line we could use. Especially since we can score him in the later rounds. Whatcha guys think? I know we have some USC fans - what have you seen from him that maybe the casual observer hasn't. |

holmes is a solid TE... he doesn't drop the ball too often, but he's not as dynamic as Cooley in terms of pass catching... he will block his rear off though, and seems to make the important first down catches when in tight spots. his production on offense has been limited with the emergence of dominique byrd (the much more explosive TE in chow's offense).
he'd be a fine pickup in the later rounds... will be a great role player for some team and also excels in special teams. Work ethic and great attitude has been attributed to his excellent upbringing as well. He missed almost an entire year a few seasons back with a serious back sprain so that's something to look out for. |

I do think that drafting a great pass-catching TE would be an interesting possibility. A Heath Miller would be a great pickup and not only that, it may take the pressure off of Coles and ___fill in the blank___. I'm sure someone will definitely pick him up first round, but it might be an interesting situation to have him as a blocker AND receiver.

On a side note, I saw that Kellen Winslow won the John Mackey award last year.
It's all about sportsmanship... Go figure.

I don't know... I'm thinking that a TE as a pass threat might open up the WRs.
