snyder is going to sign david boston(who just got cut).
i dont want the injured boston, but if snyder can pay him less than what McCants makes, D.MC is gone and boston is in. |

Re: prediction...
Won't happen. It would cost us 100k to release McCants. So, at worst, we would waste the money that we should be using to BEG Smoot to come back to sign Boston.

Re: prediction...
How would Boston be cheap? Is he that hurt? I havn't heard much about his status right now, but god he was a beast two seasons ago. I think he'd have to be really really cheap for us to sign him, so I doubt he'll come to DC.
Weird, huh? He's might be expensive so he's probably NOT coming to DC. Been a long time since I had a thought like that about a potential Skins signing. |

Re: prediction...
If he came very cheap he has the ability to be a good player. I feel he's the type of player that needs a strong coach. This should only be done if we can fit both Smoot and Boston in under the cap, otherwise go for Smoot.

Re: prediction...
The guy is a friggin head case. I highly doubt we'd sign him.
But, I don't know....if the guy comes cheap, he's got a HUGE upside. If he's cheap and he stinks up the joint, cut him. |

Re: prediction...
Please, you can't count a bad season two years ago in FREAKING SAN DIEGO against a reciever. The injury is what's affecting this guy's value, not a bad season as a reciever on the worst team in the league at the time with a terrible QB and no good offensive players AT ALL except for LT. If this guy is healthy and super cheap, there is a chance he could be a steal. That being said, he'd have to be really friggin cheap.

Re: prediction...
Coach wants quality character too and if memory serves me right, Boston has had his share of off the field problems too. I don't see it happening either.

Re: prediction...
Did you listen to the smoot interview? He backed up rumors that Boston was on the Roids, thats why he is a Big receiver. No way we get this guy

Re: prediction...
if he cannot pass a physical, he cannot be signed. the larger issue is if he is steroid enhanced. he sure looks like the package. if so, that explains his brittleness.
if not, for a vet minimum contract he might be worth a look see. he kind of reminds me of daryl gardener- damaged goods, who could provide 1 terrific season if he is motivated. but as a long term answer? highly doubtfull. as other posters have pointed out, he would result inthe loss of mccants for certain. is it worth it? not sure because it is hard to tell how deep that mccants has burrowed into gibbs' doghouse |

Re: prediction...
I don't know. I would hate to see us draft a guy to be our #1 receiver only to have to possibly fight it out with him. I just don't see him being a good role model for a young receiver.

Re: prediction...
Buls**t. Ain't gonna happen. He's definitely not a Gibbs Redskin.
1. He popped for Roids and was suspended 2. He's always hurt (because he weighs up to 260lbs...because he's on roids...and popped for it...) 3. He takes plays off. He doesn't just have a reputation for it, he actually doesn't run routes if he's not the primary receiver (because he's tired from carrying around 260lbs of roid induced muscle) 4. The Dolphins and Chargers don't want him and the Dolphins don't think even with their pathetic passing game that he could help at all. i can't believe anyone would seriously think this. BTW, he hasn't had over 1000 yds since 2001!! This is ridiculous. |
