Re: Around the NFL Week 14

Is anyone surprised that someone finally decided to knock Burfict's block off? AB was heard to yell, "Karma!" Hard to disagree. Not that I would condone cheap shots that could end player careers. But Burfict leveled more than his fair share of them -- he had to expect payback at some point.

I think the NFL has to move towards the College "Targetting Rule"...let them review it and immediately kick them out.

That shit last night...it was a clown show. But the hit by Gronk over the weekend was the cheapest shot ive seen all year. Gronk should have been suspended 2...and his excuse was about the most bullshit ever. Yeah I get it your frustrated, but this is a player safety issue. Completely unacceptable by Gronk.

I thought the block wasn't necessary, but it was clean. They teach you to lead with your shoulder and aim for center mass. I guess that's worse than grabbing dicks and twisting ankles in the pile.

I don't disagree -- totally cheap. I thought 1 game was pretty pathetic.

I thought it was a clean block as well but also necessary. Shoulder to chest. Its not a crack back. Its not a head shot. Its not away from the play. Its not late. Much rather have that vs that O line cut block on Bree when that fatass just dove at Bree's knees 4 or 5 weeks ago.

Gronk needed to get 2 for that. Mind blowing. Pats fans think anything more than a fine is clear evidence of the league bias against them. They also have this weird clinging to what Miami's alonzo did to Flacco and they mentioned that a good bit as much worse than what Gronk did. Over thanksgiving, my sister in law is a Pats fan (who is a "big" fan but doesnt follow them closely -- doesnt follow the red sox until playoffs ...) .. but she was saying how Pats fan are all up in arms about it in defense of Flacco. Odd.

Russell Wilson named NFC offensive player of the week – ProFootballTalk

Looks like Russell getting closer to MVP...he took the lead over Wentz, completely outplayed him

Aaron Rodgers. The Pack are a mess without him. And he doesn’t have Seattle’s D.

The problem with the block is that he hits him in the face mask with the crown of his helmet. Thats nit picking but he does hit the face mask.

Sean Taylor would have thrived with the new rules because he always lead with his shoulder and forearm.

Note 1: The provisions of (b) do not prohibit incidental contact by the mask or helmet in the course of a conventional tackle or block on an opponent.

I hear ya, hard to know what is and isnt a penalty.

Seems like "resulting in injury" is becoming a consideration.

Re: Around the NFL Week 14

Anything remotely borderline is going to get flagged. The hit on Burfict was pretty violent by the current standards. A few years ago that was just football, not anymore.
