Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
This injury changes everything. No way we can go into next year with just Colt and Alex. I imagine Alex will at minimum start on the PUP.
So then that leaves us drafting a QB. We would have to then keep him on the active roster even if Alex is ready to play, otherwise another team could poach him and effectively we would draft a QB for another team. That means we have 3 QBs and that shortens the roster at another position on game day. And I'm not really high on any of the QBs in the draft. This just all around sucks. Alex - Get your leg right. Fuck football for right now. Just do whatever is best that assures quality of life for after football. Once that is taken care of, back to football. See you next year.

Alex Effect - 2019 Draft

The question I keep asking myself; what IF (and that’s a big IF) Colt plays at a high level, runs the offense high octane, and gets us deep into the playoffs? Sure, we still need to draft someone, but does Gruden give the team back to Smith if McCoy plays at a high level? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
I like colt if your scenario is true stick with what's winning
If hes really about what's best for the team then he will stick with colt a develop some younger talent. Remember if colt hadn't gotten injured a few years back the redskins would have probably let kirk walk with no problem cause he did get benched and colt won that game then beat Dallas right after that Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk[/QUOTE] |

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
I have zero clue if Alex is gonna be ready to play football next year...He needs to be practicing with the team because he was fairly poor passing the ball this year.
Once I know how long until he can get on the field...I don't have answer. One thing I do know is we need to draft someone with the ability to play football in the NFL. Not some late round, udfa garbage either. |

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
No way, not trading up for any QBs in this draft in the 1st round. There are a few guys that could be options. The NC State QB, the Duke QB, Northwestern QB. I'd have to watch more of them but no one stands out as a sure thing. Bad draft to need a QB.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
I like Ryan Finley out of NC State in this draft in the 3rd. He hasn’t faced the toughest defenses in his college career but his play has been solid and consistent quality passer that can manage the game. I don’t see a need to trade up this year for QB with little long term upside.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
The chances of CM leading this team to a playoff win are very low, even getting to the playoffs are tough. Colt McCoy is a career backup for a reason folks, the team would not have traded for AS if they really believed in him. So yes they need to address QB first thing BUT this is a down year for QB's in the draft.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Teddy Bridgewater is probably the best out next year's free agency crop.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Alex Smith looked closed to being done...now with this injury he probably is done.
We need to accept this fact...lotta folks on this board need too. |

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
I have no interest in Teddy unless its at a vet min. He wasn't good when he played so after 3 years I don't see much from him. I agree Chico, AS is done as the starter in WSH. I just don't see how he will be ready to play and start by 2019.

Re: Alex Effect - 2019 Draft
Trade for Jacoby Brisett. He's not bad but other than that it looks bad folks.
Maybe Joe Flacco will be the guy
