OLine Depth watch
We just finished our final warm up (ravens joint practice) for the regular season which was touted as the measuring stick. Unfortunately, from all accounts our interior oline was really bad.
We did not have Allegretri or Cosmi in. So rather than freaking out, we should hope we get lucky with a trade or cuts for an experienced center and guard. Good news is we have a shot post cuts. Yes, we are 7th on the waiver wire, but according to this article about heaviest need, we may be first in line for oline cuts in terms of top needs for players under 4 years of service. Here is a summary of waiver wire order and top waiver wire need: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/o...ster-deadline/ 1. Raiders. LB 2. Jets LB ,maybe iol depth 3. Cardinals secondary 4. Titans CB 5. Giants Dline (fixed w trade), maybe iol depth 6. Browns Edge and also power center/rg 7. Skins Oline nimble center and guard 8. Saints Oline This order stays in place until week 4. We must make a corresponding move if we pick someone up. Also, experiences players who are cut, are free agents and would likely love our situation as there is a clear path to starting center or left guard. It goes without saying the ideal player is a swing interior center who can also play LG. I thought we had one in Brunskill, but he has disappeared after playing guard against the dolphins. With 1100 cuts coming, there will be 32 4th string centers cut and maybe 16 3rd string centers including our own. Odd are one of these will be better than our current 2nd string option of Gulbin/Good-Jones. They just need to learn our playbook in 2 wks. I wouldnt be suprised if we target a swing vet who has played 5 games at center, plus a waiver kid who is primarily a left guard with wheels

Re: OLine Depth watch
Yeah I don't really understand the logic behind the decision making regarding center.. Good-Jones played only like 5-6 snaps since 2020 so I'm not sure exactly what the FO saw in him.

He needs to dominate to stay on the roster AND make great combo protection calls He is clearly a practice squad level guy, but so is Gulbin. Hell, tonight I may try one of our swing tackle vets at center just in case

You could say that again.

Re: OLine Depth watch
Pre cut trades are beginning with 7th rounders for backups for the giants with a Dline and NE for a RB. This may be our path today to get first crack at a backup center.

Re: OLine Depth watch
First center cut: Jake Rizy undrafted from pats, 9.88 RAS developmental center, far more athletic than Gulbin, just sayin.
Nick Dawkins also cut from the Ravens and Jim Bonifas from Miami, both undrafted but agile Although Dawkins may be better than Gulbin, if we make a waiver claim, we'd have to elevate him to the roster, and that is very unlikely. The only hope is that he clears waivers, even the ravens who are likely to put him on the practice squad. Note: you cannot outbid for pracice squad as their is a cap for undrafted folks. So any young centers are likely out. Unless you want them on the 53, we will likely not put in a claim. So developmental guys are not the target. This seriously limits our options

Re: OLine Depth watch
OT's starting to move in trades to cheifs and dallas. Its time to strike, fingers crossed
Best guess Jake Andrews from the Texans would be viable
