whats up with phillies cb's
Everyone is talking about how the eagles have improved so much this year.It seems to me that losing your two starting corners isnt much of an improvement. How aggressive can there defense be?

Well for one they won't need to be with their front four being able to put pressure itself, and they still have two young former first and second round picks stepping in. But their secondary is def. not gonna be as good, but there overall defense i think will be fine.

The players they have steppin in were first round draft choices that they have been grooming. They originally picked them to stop the Rams high power offense. They will be a step down for now but should be ok

The Eagles had brought pressure on the QB with those DBs, and they brought the run blitz better than any DBs I have seen. They will have to revamp their defensive philosophy. It was a rare thing that guys the size of Harris, Vincent, Taylor and Dawkins were in the same defensive backfield.

Michael Lewis. He is young and fast and did pretty well last year when Dawkins was hurt.

Great. All we need is for their replacement CB's to perform at a high level befitting their draft round. (both 1st rounders, right?) And then for the Giants to get Eli Manning. Oh, and for the Cowboys to pick up Kevin Jones or Stephen Jackson. All of these things would be just super.

The Eagles were able to blitz so much in years past because of Vincent and Taylor, both big strong corners. The two new guys aren't exactly in that mold, add to that the new crackdown on defensive pass interference and I think their defense won't be nearly as effective. But I still think they'll be aggressive as long as Jimmy Johnson is the d-coordinator.

Last year they couldnt get as much pressure with their front four as they were used to, so now they have Kearse... Our divison is going to be tough this year, real tough.

Yes, but they could not stop the run last year, and they have made no improvements in that area.

Jevon Kearse, a few new linebackers? A first and second round dline draft picks that now have a year under their belts. I think they have. Hopefully not enough to stop CP though

Do you really consider Jevon Kerse as effective against the run? They also lost carlos emmons. Name two philly linebackers.

Dhani Jones, Nate Wayne, Mark Simoneau. Jevon Kerse disrupts the run and the pass. More so against the pass but he'll force you to stick two people on him.

What a joke. if you consider Kearse and Simminou effective against the run you should write and tell them; they have never heard it before.
You obviously looked it up because you can spell that frog's name. |

Simoneau isnt the much of a threat, they bascially had him. But Dhani Jones is a decnt pickup to replace to Emmons, he did well for the Giants last year. But hey, i hvae no desire to argue if the eagles are going to be good, I dont want them to stop the run. They have some young talent on the line, and even though two of them are Canes id rather them not do well sicne they are eagles.
