Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
It's Football time. HOF game is this weekend. I am fairly bullish again this year. I think last year was a fluke based on Griffin's injury early, then Shanahan just lost the team somehow. I am extremely excited to see Gruden as a head coach, I just think he "gets" it. So here is my prediction:
W Week 1 Sun. Sep. 7 @ Houston Texans W Week 2 Sun. Sep. 14 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars L Week 3 Sun. Sep. 21 @ Philadelphia Eagles W Week 4 Thu. Sep. 25 vs. New York Giants 8:25 PM W Week 5 Mon Oct. 6 vs. Seattle Seahawks 8:30 PM L Week 6 Sun. Oct. 12 @ Arizona Cardinals W Week 7 Sun. Oct. 19 vs. Tennessee Titans L Week 8 Mon Oct. 27 @ Dallas Cowboys 8:30 PM W Week 9 Sun. Nov. 2 @ Minnesota Vikings Week 10Bye Week W Week 11 Sun Nov. 16 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers L Week 12 Sun Nov. 23 @ San Francisco 49ers W Week 13 Sun Nov. 30 @ Indianapolis Colts L Week 14 Sun Dec. 7 vs. St. Louis Rams L Week 15 Sun Dec. 14 @ New York Giants W Week 16 Sat. Dec. 20 vs. Philadelphia Eagles W Week 17 Sun. Dec. 28 vs. Dallas Cowboys Put me on record at 10-6 and clinching the 3rd seed with a week 16 victory over the Iggles. |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
Redskins seem to be one of the most unpredictable teams in the NFL. People see us either going 3-13 again or some predictions have us going 11-5 or even 12-4.
I think they finish around 8-8 or anything around that like 7-9 or 9-7. Giants and Eagles will probably be better than us this year but it will be close. |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I'm not the most optimistic, but we could be really good quite easily. I think we'll show a little this season, but in the end, fall a little short of a playoff berth. Of course, right now pretty much every fan around the world thinks their team has done enough in the offseason to either "show a little" or make the playoffs, so predictions are a little useless, but yet... fun.
WIN at Houston WIN vs Jacksonville LOSS at Philadelphia WIN vs New York Giants LOSS vs Seattle LOSS at Arizona WIN vs Tennessee LOSS at Dallas LOSS at Minnesota WIN vs Tampa Bay LOSS at San Francisco LOSS at Indianopolis LOSS vs St. Louis LOSS at New York Giants WIN vs Philadelphia WIN vs Dallas So... 7-9, 3rd in the division. |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I am a huge believer in Gruden. Huge. He's a winner and always has been. I am not sure we have the talent on D to be very competitive. I think we're a 6-9 win team that, if everything goes ok, wins 9 and if everything doesn't we win 6. I do think there's a chance for some magic and maybe 11 wins but who knows.
For now I'll say 7-9 with most of our wins coming in the back half of the season as we make a furious push towards the playoffs but just miss. |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I too am a big believer in Gruden. As FRLPG said, the guy wins.
WIN at Houston WIN vs Jacksonville WIN at Philadelphia WIN vs New York Giants WIN vs Seattle LOSS at Arizona LOSS vs Tennessee LOSS at Dallas LOSS at Minnesota WIN vs Tampa Bay LOSS at San Francisco LOSS at Indianopolis WIN vs St. Louis WIN at New York Giants WIN vs Philadelphia WIN vs Dallas We come out like gangbusters. Big win against Seattle and the post-big game let down turns into midseason slump but recover in time to sweep our last three division games. 10-6; 5-1 in the division - NFC East Champs. Win the WC game; loss in Divisional Round. Pass the Kool-Aid, I am running low.

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
as the only dude who got it right last year, maybe gtripp did too,
i say 5-8 wins. D - secondary could be a huge disaster that no amount of offense can overcome, MLB is unproven and I dont know who will replace fletch in calling audibles, line shifts, assignments etc.. O - should be better than D for sure but i think offense takes a big step back with the loss of the shannys. the run game isnt as explosive = receivers arent as open for RG3 which may compound RG3s below average reading of D, anticipation, moving safeties with his eyes/body etc .. who knows, maybe RG3 lights it up, the O line plays better, AlfMo doesnt take a step back w the loss of the shanny running scheme, we dont suffer an injury to the paper thin secondary and the secondary plays above expected, the D line creates turnovers and rushes and the MLBs step up with their new responsibilities ... |

Re: Prediction time! the Pre PreSeason Prediction thread
I posted the same outcome in the Training Camp thread. Here's mine:
LOSS at Houston WIN vs Jacksonville LOSS at Philadelphia WIN vs New York Giants LOSS vs Seattle LOSS at Arizona WIN vs Tennessee LOSS at Dallas WIN at Minnesota WIN vs Tampa Bay 7 LOSS at San Francisco LOSS at Indianopolis LOSS vs St. Louis LOSS at New York Giants WIN vs Philadelphia WIN vs Dallas 7 - 9, hopefully good performance by the O, solid Specials, and we clearly set our fixes for the D (including DC) in the 2015 offseason.

That being said, I'd be pretty happy with anything over 7-9. If they manage 10-6, I'll be ecstatic. |
