I bet you were one of the people screaming "Give Jason Campbell a chance!" when he was shitting all over the Skins in 2009. p.s. Yes I know Zorn had a hand in that.

Everyone can see that Gruden is trying to ruin him. What is he thinking calling plays where his QB would have to look at more than one receiver and turning the game on it's head by reading both sides of the field. I mean gee whiz. Sometimes he only has one or two open receivers on a play. Last year the coach kept him down too. I have my credit card ready to buy a "Operation Prove the Haters Wrong" Tshirt. The O line is out to get him. The sack stats show it. Griffin gets sacked like crazy compared to Kirk and Colt. The receivers hate him. They are dropping balls out of spite. (To hell with their own numbers and contracts) They are even throwing up their arms after plays to show how much they don't like him. In fact, every GM in the league must be out to get him. All these really smart football people can see what a crappy job Gruden and his surrounding cast are doing and they still estimate Griffin's trade value as a 5th or 6th round pick. (I think before the season Kirk was valued as a 4th.) Surely, they are intentionally low balling the market value of a running QB who can't/won't run to ruin him in the league. The Patriots will probably pick him up off waivers to replace an aging Brady. They know in Boston that pocket passing stuff is overrated. Kid just needs a real shot to prove all the haters wrong. Not a coach, team, and league who are all out to get him. It's the Pats or the CFL! Last edited by DYoungJelly; 11-30-2014 at 12:21 AM. |

Re: Pregame Thread: Redskins vs Colts
I like McCoy 'cuz he's from UT and seems like a good guy, but I feel pretty confident in saying that writing him off as a backup is perfectly reasonable. People point to the big win against Dallas and their amazing defense and the other impressive victory against undefeated Tennessee, but McCoy has 1 passing TD that was all Garcon, a bad interception in the end zone against Dallas, and has led the offense to what... 33 points in almost 7 quarters against two bad defenses? And I'm afraid some people have conveniently forgotten about that sack he took against Dallas that knocked us out of field goal range(see, it's not just RG that does that).
But yeah, if McCoy actually plays well over the next several weeks, I'll be cheering louder than anyone. |

He's playing because RG3 couldn't show the capacity to play the QB position at even the most basic level.

Egg-sackly. This is almost still an evaluation on RG-3 imo. If Colt continues to have success than we can stop blaming everyone else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

And yeah, I agree with your other points. I'm all about letting guys play to develop, but not before they're ready(Griffin isn't). I agree with the decison to start McCoy, I just don't think he's anything other than a serviceable backup that will get us to the offseason on all fours instead of crawling on our belly. Yep, and Griffin had a perfectly placed bomb against Tampa Bay that Garcon dropped. |
