We thought Griffin was bad. We replaced him. Twice. Both his replacements are worse. At what point do we just suck it up and admit that any time we make a change, things get worse? Frankly, I think we should settle in and start enjoying three win seasons. Because honestly, it can get worse.
So now our only option is to learn to enjoy the inevitable pain of being a Redskins fan? To Hell with that idea!

Gruden has done a horrible job, IMO. He can be dismissed now. In fact, I don't mind if Snyder changes HC's annually if that what it takes to find the right man for the job. Eventually, Snyder might get lucky.

Although it usually takes more than one season to evaluate a new HC, I don't think that is always the case. Sometimes, I think that an owner can tell if a HC isn't a good fit for his organization after one just one season.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

The last thing the team needs is to toss aside another head coach. But part of me feels like it would be good if Snyder went in and fired everyone, including Allen. Go get a young and upcoming personnel guy to be the GM. To me your GM needs to be the kind of guy who will scout a potential special teams warrior that will also be a back up player, like a Monte Coleman type. Your GM has to have the scouting blood in him. Then give him the power to either keep Gruden or let him go.

I'm not even sure Gruden could handle being OC on most teams. He was really "coddled" in Cincy having a ton of talent to work with and an elite defense that constantly put the offense in good position.

Lol. Having talent to work with means an o-coordinator is "coddled?" If that's the case, I wish our o-coordinators were coddled every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

This is easily the worst situation I can ever remember any NFL team being in.

A coach with 4 more guaranteed years who by all accounts is terrible, a QB who loves drama more than football, 3 high picks not on the roster because of a trade, and terrible front office support.

Doesn't mean they can't make moves, but reality says we won't get what we want.

Gee look who is number three on the list. Danny is just so upset he can't win; he uses 100 dollar bills to wipe the tears away.

It is not only the $20M when talking about Gruden, it is also who do you replace him with in 2015?

Hard to imagine Gruden getting the axe so quick. Even Zorn got two years.

Yeah, but wasn't Zorn like 7-9 or 8-8 in his first year?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

I've totally lost track of this thread, but Snyder has paid millions over the years for coaches not to be here

Even if we lose out, I don't see him getting rid of Gruden. My money is on BA either leaving or moving to business role.

He has but I don't ever remembering him eating 20 million. That's a lot of coin to pay to make someone go away. Gruden's in the drivers seat and he knows it.

To you, I doubt Dan. Plus he has already paid one year of it down.
Imagine being Gruden. Get fired and still get 16m over the next 4 years.

Plus if Gruden keeps putting this trash out for 4 years, Danny would lose a lot more then 20m because of lost revenue.

Isn't his contract 5 million per year?

Re: RG3 and Gruden?

As was pointed out many months ago, the Gruden contract problem is what you get when, unlike every other team, you give a first-time HC a guaranteed long-term contract.

Perhaps some day we will throw intelligence, rather than money, at problems.
