Yep, I voted no. And no I don't post much. #5 is too high to pick a guard, even though I think he'll be a good one. It was a pick of need, not BPA. Obviously, the trade down offers were too low in Round 1 to consider, so we had to stay there which is ok. All the pass rushers were gone, but guys like Williams come around every 5 years or so.

According to a few media guys, Scherff was 3rd on our board, so Scotty was actually picking BPA at the time. They had Fowler/Cooper rated above him. I had some reservations at first too, but mostly I was hoping we could trade back a few spots (before Giants) and still grab him. No trades were presented (of value) and they made the pick. I'm happy. Remember how people laughed at the Cowboys for picking their Center in the 1st round? Now everybody is saying...."look what the Cowboys have been doing in the draft". It was hilarious watching some of the Extremeskins ppl go apeshit over it, yet the same guys bitching about not drafting OL over the years.

Scot Mccloughn has been doing this for decades. If he thought that T/G was worth drafting at 5. We should trust his judgement. Keep in mind that we've had rbs, wr, and te drafted in the top ten. I don't believe that anyone of these positions are more important than neither tackle position, but that's just my opinion. Stop listening to those pretenders on ESPN and the NFL Network. If they ever work in anyone's front office. They are only on these networks because they weren't very good at their jobs. If they never worked in anyone's front office it's safe to say that they're not experts.

Round 2 I say we select La'el Collins. Would give us 3 nasty OL men along our o-line!

The first round is finished and Randy Gregory is still available. Should we trade up to get him?

Why not? He's a top ten talent. We had a lot of people on this board talking about drafting him at five.

Because trading up 4 picks is kind of stupid. Tennessee won't take him, they just signed Rak and they need weapons for Mariota, Jacksonville just took Fowler, the Raiders drafted Khalil Mack last year but could draft him, and how much defense can the Jets draft before they try to help the offense?

With our (hopefully) improved defensive line, the Sknis should take the LB Dawson from TCU. Talk about a nasty streak and he would/could replace Riley. His stats blew every other ILB out of the water.

Re: 2015 NFL Draft: Round 1

the only trade downs we could have gotten and kept the player would be #6-#8, maybe they could have bluffed the jets out of a 6th or 7th, but the top OL was going to the giants at 9. so at least we 2 for 1'd them by also making them take a worse prospect. It's hard to say he doesn't look like a good player, and he's one of the few OL that'll run and block 20 yards downfield. those types aren't easy to get, so here's hoping it translates to the NFL.

I mean, i might would have gone the other way if it were me, but i'm not down on the pick at all. time is the only true judge.

collins, gregory, and clemmons all on the board. wouldn't mind going OL/OL or whatnot in the 2nd.

All his highlights show him playing LT. No concerns with him moving to RT?

That's why you bring in a guy like Bill Callahan. I'm sure he had input on the pick and is confident he can coach him up.

And Winston shows his immaturity right after the draft:

Jameis Winston tweets photo of crab legs after draft selection by Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With all the off the field issues he's had, he probably should stay away from little stunts like these. I know it was only "crab legs", but as I said, it just shows immaturity.
