McAdoo says Giants will play to win, Vegas doesn’t believe him

Quote:
The Giants continue to say they’ll play their starters and play to win on Sunday in Washington, but the people who set the point spreads in Las Vegas do not believe it.

Giants coach Ben McAdoo insisted today that his team is playing to win, and he intends to have starting quarterback Eli Manning play the entire game. That echoes what Giants players have said about their preparations this week.

And yet in Las Vegas, Washington opened as a five-point favorite, and the money has come in significantly for Washington, which is now favored by eight points. Based on the teams’ records, season-long point differentials and other traits, Washington would ordinarily be about a three-point favorite at home against the Giants. For Washington to be an eight-point favorite suggests that the bettors don’t believe McAdoo’s team is really going to play to win on Sunday.

The Lions and Packers are hoping McAdoo is telling the truth: If Washington loses, both the Lions and Packers will go to the playoffs. If Washington wins, only the winner of Sunday night’s Lions-Packers game will go to the playoffs.

Frankly, I don't believe him, either. Why not make the Redskins seriously gameplan for them?

I think the Giants will play their starters, but they'll incremently start removing some of their starting personnel, as the game goes on. I wouldn't be surprised at some point in the 3rd quarter that we'll see a lot of G-men reserves in the ballgame.

Not to mention both teams can score. So what are the chances that if it goes into OT (which we all know it will - lol) that nobody puts points up?

Man I just have haunted memories of seasons past,I think it was in 79 that if we beat the cowboys we were in,and if we lost we were still in unless {I think it was Chicago} didnt win by 30 points or more.Seemed like a virtual lock.Well we lost 35-34 to the boys and Chicago won 45-3 booting us from making the playoffs. That game still haunts me

Yes but the fact that you have to go back 40 years tells you it is not an everyday occurrence. Lol. Keep calm and get ready for the playoffs. Httr.

Re: Skins win and they're in!

I predict right now..we beat Giants start the celebration ..then the cruel world comes a crashing and the GB/DET game goes into overtime ..27-27 and we will have to sweat another game ...all to go to seattle and .........................BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF SEAHAWKS!!!

What better way to end 2016 and going to the playoffs is to beat the G-Men!

Re: Skins win and they're in!

That article reminds me about the year 2007...man, those Cowboys fans been waiting along time to be relevant again.

That's a lot of pent-up troll energy...wonder if we will see any around this year?
