Something Good That Came From This Weekend

Thanks guys. She's already a Redskins fan so that helps. Actually she knows nothing of the Redskins being from Edmonton, but she's graciously accepted the Skins as our team.

I actually told her "so long as we're clear, I need Sundays from August to February for football" Had to lay down the law now! Let that be a lesson to you young'ns out there. HAHA

Seriously though, it's a real strange emotion right now. Obviously I'm happy but it all feels so surreal. And all the wedding stuff we have to start thinking about man it's overwhelming. All of you married folk out there any advice would be more than welcome.

That's exactly what I told my wife, and it's worked out pretty well. And as for advice, I think that's really how you should handle everything in a marriage. You have to communicate openly about your wants and needs, and clearly define boundaries that shouldn't be crossed-- like interfering with football Sundays! Of course, you have to be willing to accept and respect her side of that bargain as well. Basically, the keys to a happy and loving marriage are maintaining good communication, and expressing true appreciation and respect for each other.

Congrats, TAFKAS! Here's to a long and happy marriage for the two of you!

It's pretty simple and you already did the best thing...define the terms of the agreement prior to the agreement being executed. LOL..I have been married 15 years and the number one thing that was agreed upon was don't f**k with my Sunday or Monday if the skins are playing. It has worked on numerous occassions, weddings, outings....no thanks, there is a skins game on.

Half of the battle is over already!!! Dictate those terms early and often to make sure it is very clear!

Amen to the above! Congratulations TAFKAS!

My lovely bride of 32 years is still the greatest gift God has given me, in addition to my kids (2), and of course, my grandkids (4 1/2)!


Oh, one bit of advice: Always kiss her & tell her that you love her, no matter where you are going, to work, to the store, or whereever. It doesn't matter who else is there in the room with her. Kiss her and tell her anyway.

Oh, and one other bit of advice to learn the following:

"Yes, dear, I'm sorry dear, it will never happen again!"

Makes for a peaceful marriage.
