Even with a 10-6 record, we COULD miss the playoffs?
I was reading about this today and saw that a non-divisional 10-6 might not be enough for some people to make the playoffs.
That's INSANE after you could be at 8-8 last year and still make it. I'm nervous, so I guess we'll have to remedy that by winning the divison.

With three teams at 5-2 in the NFC South, and two teams with 5 wins in the East, it makes sense to me.
If the season ended today, (I know it's too early for this), the NFC East would only have ONE team in the playoffs. |

It's happened like that before. In our 89' season, we went 10-6 and missed the playoffs.

Re: Even with a 10-6 record, we COULD miss the playoffs?
This is going to sound ridiculous (considering this past weekend) but I am not convinced about the Giants. I have a feeling they are a house of cards right now. Unless they can use the same motivation the had last Sunday the rest of the year they simply don't seem to me to be a team that can go at it for the long haul. The Cowboys impress me more and I think we'll see them improve as the season goes on. The Eagles are just put together well and will compete just abot every week. I still think this division is up for grabs. 10-6 is not a gurantee when the NFC has gotten this much better. The NFC has a winning record vs the AFC for the first time ina while adn that is why someone at 10-6 will probably miss the playoffs.

I just hope and prey it won't be us after we had a chance last year if we went 8-8.

If we don't win this weekend we won't have to worry wbout much until next year. This is a HUGE game for both teams. I'll worry about getting into the playoffs at 10 & 6 when it happens.

One team falls to mediocrity, the other stays in the race.

Remember--lots of these teams play each other, in division and so on. So I wouldn't be surprised to see things settle out.
We need to take care of our own business. THat's the bottom line.

This won't be a problem when we finish 13-3

I agree TAF, it's time to go on a tear and leave NO DOUBT that the Giants game was just a fluke. There were too many things at work that Sunday.
