I do think the Skins have to give some serious thought to whether they think Lanier is worth keeping. From what I saw he's such a significant run liability.
Pass rush skills are evident though. You'd have to be comfortable with having a pretty one dimensional depth player who you'd only put in as a sub package interior pass rusher, because he can be run on all day long.

Just re-re-watched the game with what you said in mind, I see how I completely underestimated/misread a lot of what he did.
Late in the 3rd (6:33), he helped stopped Gillislee for a loss. Didn't seem like much because he was stuck with his opponent and LBs Hamilton and Fernandez got there first, but he was the only DL still in the backfield, others were pushed back... Had he not, maybe the RB finds a hole this way and runs away from the LBs.
