He was canned because he was told to keep it in house 2 times before... You can't do that crap.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

Bottom line, is DJ like most of today’s athletes has this huge self absorption that they think they are above it all. Look at Cabron James, he thinks he’s the owner, coach and recruiter, they need to be put in their place.

Dude just doesn't know when to shut up...after a while you become too outspoken and say too much you become an annoyance....I understand he wants to win....but the HC asked him too keep his frustrations in-house and he didn't do it...he went too far this time....I really liked Swearinger....been scouting him since his days at South Carolina....

I applaud the Redskins for doing this. Good for them. You can't continue to do what he is doing and continue to keep your job. He is basically ripping his bosses to the media and the public. Imagine if DJ did this and he was on the Patriots. He would have been gone the first time he did it. See ya and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I am not sure he would mouth off with the Patriots. The coaching staff is far more competent and the team more disciplined. As for keeping things in house. Maybe that was tried and the same shit kept happening. Do you just grin and bear it or do you try to make them accountable?

As I said, disagreements happen on every NFL sideline. Go to your coach, close the door and have a conversation. Going to the media on multiple occasions is asking to get fired. This has nothing to do w/ Bruce or the owner. He is bitching about the calls made during a game. Enough already.

Another fantastic move by this piece of shit front office. They’ve been full of great moves for 30 years now.

DJ was the problem! It’s no Allen, or Manusky, or Gruden! It’s our best players that are the problem! Now everything is fixed

Good riddance. His public belly aching couldn't continue, and it wouldn't have been allowed on any other NFL squad.

This is a move that I am proud of Jay for making. I think it was a long time coming.
just the beginning add $4.5 million of cap space...V.Davis add $5 million, Z.Brown add $5.3 million with more to come

Yep he seems like a guy who always thinks he's better than the system. If I understand correctly, he was cut in Houston for walking out of a meeting about special teams / refusing to provide kickoff support because he claimed that he was a 2nd round pick and shouldn't be doing stuff like that. Also, his dog bit a team mate, and he allegedly had to steal his own car from a body shop. Sounds like a wonderful, intelligent human being.

This is now the second time in his career that the former second-round pick from South Carolina has been released by a team despite playing well. The Texans, who originally drafted Swearinger, released him in 2015 following multiple incidents. Swearinger walked out of a special teams meeting because he reportedly viewed himself as too important to contribute on kick coverage due to being a second-round pick. Additionally, there were incidents in which his dog bit Jadeveon Clowney, and he allegedly stole his own truck from a body shop parking lot.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

99.9% of all jobs, you get fired the 1st time you pull that shit. He forced Grudens hand on this one. He played well this year, but that's not the kind of "leadership" winning teams have. Does create another hole that needs to be plugged next year.

Forget trading up for QB, we need to trade down for more picks.

Wow I was expecting him to be benched for a game at the most. Big props to the team for doing this. Didn’t think they had the balls.

Agreed...wow.

While his criticism of Manusky is probably accurate, DJ's become the boy who cried wolf.

Instead of chirping all the time, how 'bout you stop the Titans from driving the field late in the 4th quarter with the season on the line.

Time to move on... best of luck DJ.

Re: D.J. Swearinger released

I blame this MF’er for all this shit, started with him and took his shitty pussy attitude to Denver.
