I feel like skinsfaninok - seeing the team change its name is a lot to process mentally.

It just doesn't feel the same, thinking about whatever the name is, Redtails, redhawks, redwolves, redspears, redSHITS, whatever it is it is just sad IMO that today's cancel culture has brought about this.

I guess i just need to give this a chance to see if i can get behind it. If i can't, then i'm probably done as a fan of this team. I, like a lot of people, have been considering my fandom the last couple of seasons as thing with Snyder has gotten worse and worse, we went through the Bruce Allen debacle, now this, it just seems like things are getting worse and worse. But i am going to do my best to see if I can get behind this new start.

This was a good read on the origins of the logo, but we all know this won't get national attention.

I'm sorry if I was all negative and dramatic yesterday but the Redskins were my childhood , football in general down south saved many of us in our certain situations.

If it's the Warriors I'm staying
Redwolves is ok but it's also the name of Arkansas state football...

I guess I will have to really think about it and losing the skins still doesn't seem real to me.. Crazy what a Football team can do to you

I hate the circumstances of this name change. It’s never been discussed or proven that the name Redskins is offensive. We’re just being run over by a liberal mob. It’s devastating and my worst sports nightmare. As foR the alternatives...Warriors is the best but only if we can use some variation of the spear helmet and have some subtle references to NA. Otherwise I’d probably go with Redwolves but not as enthusiastically as others. Just please no dumb Washington DC political red white and blue nonsense.

Fred Smoot says it's going to be Redwolves , Lake Lewis told me "Warriors is his guess but Redwolves has a legit chance as well"

Pretty good read it is an opinion piece but a lot of his fears resonate with me in regards to the rush job we are seeing. Snyder knew this day was inevitable and yet unprepared.

How do yout know Dan wasn't prepared for this day? Maybe the quick turnaround is because he had a plan to execute ? He's been fighting this battle for decades and had to realize eventually he might lose it.

It ain't April Fools Day. He hasn't been fighting anything he has been denying a problem even existed. This is the same guy who was shocked that Giants and Eagles fans took over Fed Ex Field in 2018 and couldn't understand why fans were not coming to games. The same guy that abandoned the warriors trademark this year. I find it highly doubtful he was prepared.

I had read that the other owners have to sign off on the name as well.. I'm not sure how legit that is

I think that is an error too. I think the league has to approve the name. I also hope they drop the name, play as Washington football and wait and do their due diligence.
