If it is going to be generic DC FC would be the best, until I look at the initials dc and think dallas cowboys. Then DC FC sucks.

So what happens now when the team scores a TD? Are we at least going to play HTTR w/out the lyrics? I'm sure if we do there will be a massive backlash from all the sensitive crybabies and the league will fine Snyder millions... lol.

HTTR lyrics can easily be rewritten to not use the word redskins.

Well .. we changed it from "fight for old dixie" to "dc" but I half agree.

I think finding something to go with "washington" is difficult. Just seems Washington Warriors is the only halfway decent alternative but it halfway sucks.

DC .. I think is more workable ... yet I cant think of anything cool for DC either. DC Defenders? is that some fringe sports team already?

Idk .. this name thing is so hard as nothing sounds or seems right.

Id like something NA themed and we are right on the Potomac. I grew up fishing, hiking swimming, exploring the Potomac so I would love anything re that.

Hard .. none of the names feel right and Id rather just go WFT until something feels right.

Well WFT is in effect keeping the old the name unofficially. I think that is why WFT will be the name since Snyder is still in charge (and stronger in team ownership control than he was last year).

WFT does not keep the name unofficially. It became a new lackluster name that does nothing. You can't cajole it into the Redskins and you can't build an identity around it. It's just a stupid and lazy long term answer by the team if they go with it (which I doubt they will unless the team wins the superbowl in which case it a name of destiny)

WFT "does nothing (your words)" - if it does nothing people will default to the previous name, which is exactly what they did last year and will continue to do this year. They are still the Redskins until an actual name is picked (And since I believe Snyder is thinking along these lines as well, you may have to get used to it long term).

I know very few people that defaulted to the original name, even smaller amount outside of WFT fans. I also don't understand the logic that this is Snyder's game plan. What does he have to gain from a handful of people still calling them the Redskins? It definitely does not add any merchandise revenue any more.

Odd when this subject was broached (Usually due to something I was wearing or if I was at a place watching a game) just about everyone I've run across (mainly strangers to me) stated they still call them the Redskins (this included other team fans - especially those from the NFC East).
