Per everyone’s favorite, Jason La Cuntfora:

“Was just talking to a personnel guy about Fournette. He figured New England or Washington as potential teams who might claim him.“

What would Fournette offer in Turner's scheme? He's basically a fullback and offers no more longer term upside than Barber. Let the Pats pick him up and see him do nothing for them.

Vikings beat reporter, forget who

Vikings will practice today at 2 PM but I’m told Riley Reiff isn’t expected to be there. He was in the building earlier this morning and it sounds like the Vikings have given him a deadline of tomorrow to decide whether he’ll take a restructured deal or be released.

This is a dude who I would get. Kick Charles inside at left guard

Sounds like Cornelius Lucas has been a major disappointment, so they may just swap him out assuming they want to pay Reiffs salary

I was on the early "Cornelius Lucas 2020 = Ereck Flowers 2019" train .. but yeah, not hearing much about Lucas lately. Sounds like Geron would be the starter LT if we played today.

Reiff is 31 and should immediately quiet concerns about LT. I imagine the Eagles would be the first team calling, wouldnt be surprised if the dont offer something like a conditional 5th for Reiff.

I think our O line is our weakest unit and may severely handicap play calling and Haskins development.

Didn't think of the eagles, they tend to be agressive when trading picks so they would be the most obvious destination,

While I agree with the Oline being our weakest point on team, based on what I have been reading about what players are saying about Scott Turner and his offense, it seems as if Turner is being creative and include a lot of pre-snap movements to allow the offense identify what kind of base the defense is in. This can help the Oline to react better, 1 or 2 seconds can make a difference. Nonetheless, Oline is still a significant concern.

Big fan of pre-snap movement. But it requires the play call to be sent in early and the Qb and O line to be well versed and on the same page. Id guess well see some growing pains with a second year QB, a few new faces to LT and LG and a new playbook/terminology/coaches.

After the past few seasons of watching injuries decimate our O line and then in turn decimate our play calling and execution .. I think I have some form of O line ptsd.

It is a concern. However, I think you're going to see mainly quickly developing plays. Get the ball in Gibson, McKissic, Love, Sims, and McLaurin hands and let them go. All are money in open space. Pound the rock with Peterson also. This will be the primary recipe.

I would be surprised if the offense isn't better than last year. Not great but serviceable. I think people will be surprised somewhat. Worst thing about not having a great oline is not being able to use more deep, slow developing plays so Haskins can flash his cannon.

I think many are underestimating Haskins development/talent/hard work from last year and some of the guys we brought in. Gibson, McKissic, Thomas and Love can make this offense better. NFL is about making plays and that's what these guys do.
