I Love Tony!!!

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...120401213.html

"Late last week my colleagues Sally Jenkins and Tom Boswell wrote columns ripping the Redskins as hopelessly mediocre. Each in their signature way -- Boz, using statistics; Sally, from her home in New York -- made specific fun of me because of my optimistic opinion that the Redskins would win the rest of their games, beginning with the Lambs in St. Louis.

Who's laughing now, huh?"

..........

"This was a vintage Joe Gibbs formula win: Give up nothing in the second half, and pound the ball relentlessly. It's the formula Gibbs will try to replicate in Arizona next Sunday. I bring this up because at the end of the first half, the Fox head Brian Baldinger lashed out at Gibbs for not scoring enough points and being unreceptive to input. Baldinger essentially called Gibbs a mastodon, and insinuated that the NFL game had passed him by. I checked with the desk to find out how many Super Bowl rings Mr. Baldinger has. He has none. He's rich in opinion, though."

Godbless Tony Kornheiser! A quite lovable Redskins fan. He hears us! Sally Jenkins won't write an article this week will she? HELL NO! I think it's pathetic she's got a job reporting for the Post on the Redskins. Let's put her on Sunday Bowling coverage. By the way why is Brent Musberger doing Sunday bowling??? He's better than these Fox jerkoffs. In the second half I put on the radio to hear Sam, Sonny and Larry. I miss Frank. Next week I'll start with them while watching the broadcast, cause I'm sickened and sick of them. GO TONY!!! GO SKINS!!!

Re: I Love Tony!!!

NO turnovers, but you're missing my point! Kornheiser called out Sally Jenkins and super dufus Brian Baldinger. Kornheiser gets my game ball for Monday articles! Great read, funny, and damn true. Where's Sally's article? And Brian how about Sunday bowling?

Re: I Love Tony!!!

Baldinger really is the worst analyst on TV, perhaps the worst in the history of sports.

I like Tony's take, but the fact is when things are going south you're going to face a lot of criticism, some justified, some not.

I think Baldinger is better that Bill Maas. Of course that's like saying I'd rather have diarrhea than vomitting.

I thought the safety was a turnover, but I guess not. In retrospect, it wouldn't make sense to count it as a turnover since then the rams would have recovered it in the endzone.

I like the shot at Jenkins, but I still can't stand Cornheiser.

He doesn't really add anything to a discussion. I appreciate that he's a rabid DC sports fan, but that doesn't make him a good sports journalist. He's style is to be entertaining, not incisive or even contemplative. For entertaining sports commentary, I go with the Junkies. With the exception of the occasional article, I haven't watched, listen to, or read Kornheiser's stuff for years.

Re: I Love Tony!!!

this is what sally said
"If you listen to Mr. Tony's radio show, you've heard his message of hope. If the Redskins can win at St. Louis and Arizona, they will be 7-6, and then anything is possible, especially with the NFC East still in a tumult. They could even run the table. The trouble is that nothing in the Redskins' recent play would lead you to think they can do it. If you believe they can, you probably wear a Redskins belt buckle."
