He's too old school and defense minded to attract a young and dynamic player like DW.

I do agree that RW wants to go to a team and have a say in how things are run and there's no way RR would ever go for that.

Yeah I don't get the logic either. Just my guess as to why it is on his list

^ Yeah not sure I get that either. Ron is a player's coach and is pretty widely respected.

That's all true but I'm talking about how offenses are run in the modern NFL. Rivera is too old school to attract a dynamic young free agent QB.

This is Scott Turner's offense. What about it looked old school last year?

That is silly, Cam in his prime was a forerunner of the dynamic qb style. I do think the lack of desire to come here has to do with Snyder, the TW situation, and not knowing if it really is a new day in our FO.

Cam is definitely all those things yet in the 9 years RR had one of the best QBs in the league he only made the playoffs 4 times and 2 of those were one and done. Cam came along about 10 years too early. Had Cam come along now with coaches who know how to scheme and game plan for the skill set a dynamic QB like Cam brings to the table it would be Mahommes only 2 inches and 15 lbs heavier.

I do agree DS also plays a role in players hesitating to come here. Even if a QB wanted to come here and play, with how unstable this organization has been it seems like a gamble these QBs aren't willing to take.

Newton never learned to read Ds at advanced level and is horribly inaccurate, especially on deep balls. All the scheming in the world won't make him an accurate passer. But the real problem is his character. You never win the big one with a guy like that at QB, character-wise. Also, he has been incredibly injury prone. Imagine that, a running QB hurt all the time. What a shocker. Running QBs a fad. Pocket passers are what last and win year in and year out.

Good, but not surprising: Ron likes to hire people he's comfortable with, doesn't mean he's gonna make shitty football decisions because of it.

Good.

I bet they have their eyes on Mariota and are just waiting to see what the Raiders do. Raiders probably asked for too much initially which is why nothing has happened, but they will eventually have no choice but to bring their price down, or release him and get nothing.

This is not surprising. Hopefully people will stop getting their panties in a bunch complaining about Cam, as though he is coming here.

I think it's very telling that RR and this coaching staff want no part of Cam. Didn't want him last year for $1+Mil, and don't want him this year.

It's probably actually driving the market for his services even further into the ground.
