Patterson is a tank. Or as my brother said, a muscle with legs. Definitely the camp star. Hope he shines in the regular season too. Nice change up to Gibson.

And we also have JDM. Stacked backfield

I love this team. Man, if we stay healthy, this is going to be a fun season.

That dog howling is awesome. Washington Wolves has to be the name.

I wonder what Vegas odds would be for the Wolves vs. other options/field.

Skinsfan69: I don't recall ever disagreeing with you on anything before. Makes me a little sad you don't like the Wolves.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Kicking game bounce back is big. No one wants to talk/worry about another bad field unit performance

Offense:

It’s still a work in process first team it’s ok but definitely not a smooth run op.

Fitz had shots in the end zone he missed…also the Bengals dropped an easy Fitz int. Hit that guy in the hands in the red zone I believe. This place woulda been kray.

Told y’all about Jerik Patterson after the draft. He is a natural runner. I think Barber might get bumped but we will see. Also, JP is running against 2s making them look silly, can he manage same production against 1s?

We move the ball with some vanilla stuff but can’t really finish the job. It will get better and it will grow gradually.

Oline seems to do a better job in pass pro….run blocking is ok. Not getting that interior push.

Defense:

Guys look ready. Collins looks healthy and more aggressive. Our defense is gonna face a tough gauntlet of top QB play, when I see JP hyping gambling induced thoughts like this team can lead the the nfl in lowest point total….just hold the fuck on. Temper expectations.

BSJ…this rookie looks calm and confident. Played well last night.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Offense was def underwhelming tonight with Patterson looking like best player on the field,to me he looks like a clone of Darren Sproles.Fitzmagic was a good signing but I want to see Heineken get his shot,he has the wheels like RG3 and the pocket awareness RG3 didn’t have.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Their run game did nothing, or very little the first half, which obviously has less to do with the quarterback and was a major issue for WFT last year. Neither of WFT starting CBs was playing last night. Couple of miscommunications and near INTs from Fitz are more of the concern, that was FitzTragic rearing its head. Hopefully he gets it out of his system in the PS. Noticed that Saddiq Charles is exclusively playing OT ( both L & R) so far in the preseason, Ron could be preparing to go with 9 OL so he can keep more of the ST guys who are on the bubble.

It is just Preseason though. Hopefully playing time will give our guys a head start in the first two weeks of the season compared to those who are sitting out the PS.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Haven't finished the game yet, but one thing: Ereck Flowers starting at LG ahead of Schweitzer. In line with what I thought I had seen from him last season, and what we saw last week.
Schweitzer was a nice surprise, and is a quality back up but Flowers is just the better man IMO, he stood out last week.

Chase looks ready to stack some stats this year.

Henieke looked hesitant. Not trusting his eyes, holding the ball then having to scramble.

LBs may be the weak link again this year.

Yeah I still don't get why we didn't sign a FA LB...
We know we'll have to be a little bit patient with Jamin Davis, complicated position in the NFL.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

One thing from yesterday:

Contrary to last week, Jamin Davis stayed on quite a lot of occasions in nickel packages, in the first quarter.
He was even the one LB on a 3rd and down dime personnel (the St Juste deflection leading to a FG after Cam Sims' fumble).

They tried all three different combinations on nickel, Bostic/Holcomb (the norm last week), Bostic/Davis, and Holcomb/Davis.

I think it tells something about the rookie's progress in practice.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Through the first half.

St Juste and Torry McTyer looking really good.

DB squad is crowded but it'll be interesting to see who makes it...

Sure Locks: WJ3, Fuller, Collins, Curl, Moreland, St Juste, McCain

Likely to make it: Everett, Danny Johnson (kick return), Torry McTyer (looking really good in ps and getting ), Darrick Forrest

Likely cuts: Troy Apke, Reaves (love the guy but... Numbers...)

Probably won't keep 11 dbs, so ... Who you cutting ?

It's gonna be tough. I think St Juste and McTyer make it, I think Johnson Reaves and Forrest are cut with Reaves and Forrest to PS if they make it. I think teams will be looking at our defense cuts for sure.

Moreland might be a surprise cut.
