Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I wouldn't oppose to that move as that approach will help us preserve our draft picks.. I'm curious to see which QB they are targeting though since I don't see any QB in free agency that would be ideal for us to pursue.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I can live with a FA vet and a 2nd or lower pick on QB; if the rookie washes out, try again next year. But I'd rather, assuming we can get a 1-2 year starter in FA, they draft for need elsewhere this year then go all out for a top prospect next year. As others have said, just keep drafting QB's until you get it right.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I would be happy with the idea of trading down this year ( assuming we can find a partner) to the bottom third of the first round in exchange for a first next year like the Giants did last year. We can then grab one of this years QBs and still have good ammunition next year if required.

Sounds like Trubisky could be the one with the Carolina/Buffalo connection

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
At what point do we hold RR accountable for what he puts on the field?
Year 1 was a mulligan, dude had cancer and Haskins to deal with. Last year was more of the same bullshit. I need some motherfucking progress in year 3 and that means getting a QB Now. we should not settle for some retread putzing around at QB another year. Maybe not having a QB is Riveras crutch. At some point he has to start winning right? |

If we could somehow land Watson it just might wake up this dead ass fanbase. It may give fans a reason to come out to the games. He may be the one guy who could do it. Offer up Payne and two first rounders. The more likely option is trading for Tribisky or Mariota and drafting someone, then bring back the noodle arm. |

Supposedly he got a little cabeza from most of his victims

This will be his Third offseason Evaluating the most important position in sports. Look at Kligsbury in AZ, guy stepped into the HC with first year Josh Rosen as QB. Rosen wasn’t a fit so he traded him for nothing and got Murray. They were 11-5 in a good division this year. I realize that there isn’t always a good QB waiting to be drafted but good teams get a QB and bad teams bring in stop gaps every few years. They missed on Justin Herbert and they missed on Matt Stafford. Unfortunately I firmly believe Snyder is in charge of our QB situation and Rivera is just cashing checks. |

WFT problem has been one of timing. Have never been so bad that they were in a position to draft a Joe Burrow (But o so close), have been uncertain as to their position when in hindsight they should have taken QB (Haskins) or have had a draft without any genuine franchise QBs (this year). If there were any supposed franchise QBs this year Ron would still have to sell the farm from 11th to get one, with no certainty of whether the guy will work out (see Sam Darnold). It is basically a crap shoot where you don't get rid of a a proven QB unless you already have a better replacement (see Cousins, Kirk) which is why I would be stunned if Seattle traded Wilson or GB traded Rodgers |

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Keim said again today that he believes the team will go after a veteran instead of drafting a rookie to take over. Last year it was Fitz… this year it needs to be Wilson, Watson or Carr if he’s available.

If we have to suffer another year, ok. The next 2 franchise QB's come up in the 2023 draft.
