Re: The Playoff Thread

Bills had best pass D in the regular season, but it didn't look like it. I don't actually blame Frazier all that much, they held Mahomes in check as much as you can in the 1st 3 quarters. Plus they've lost their #1 CB. The guys on the field didn't communicate/execute.

But I agree, not squib kicking the KO was dumb, as it would have taken away one offensive play, if not leave them with one chance to get that yardage. For an analytics guy like McDermott, that's dumb.

In the end, with a matchup like this, I think it comes down to having the guys at the skill positions. Kelce and Hill, not to mention Pringle and McKinnon, ripped the Bills apart. Singletary didn't factor (I don't get why the Bills didn't grind out more), Diggs and Knox were all but neutralised, and only Davis really contributed (but how!). Have to favour the Chiefs now lifting the Lombardi again.

Rams D is no joke , I wouldn't give the trophy away just yet.

Who's giving anything away? I'm just saying I'd favour them. And who's guaranteeing the Rams beat the 9ers anyway?

I didn't have an issue w/ them kicking it out of the endzone. Just play defense. They let KC get 45 yards in 13 seconds. That is just nuts.

Stafford did that to us last year. Three plays and 34 yards in 16 seconds for the go ahead FG as time expired.

You're never out of it with a good QB.

Exactly why I'd squib it. Take as much time off the clock as possible. They hadn't really stopped Mahomes all day, why expect to be able to do it when it really counted.

Re: The Playoff Thread

I think the College rules are the best option, and I would be ok with a change to something similar (or the exact same) in the near future. While there is still a coin toss, each team gets to possess the ball - no matter what. Seems odd to have such a spectacular back and forth game, especially down the stretch, and then in the final period (OT) have the possibility of only one team possessing the ball. Let them go toe to toe for a couple more possessions, culminating with alternating two-point conversion attempts if it goes to the third OT period.

And do away with ties in the regular season...that's just dumb.

I hate the coin toss won the game BS. Like defense doesn't matter. Or boo hoo it's not fair. You know what else isn't fair? Life. Get used to it.

Stop them on defense with 13 seconds left.

I got no problem with the overtime rule.

Re: The Playoff Thread

The coin toss did not determine the winner/loser.

That doesn't mean there's not a better way to do it though.

No one has come up with a better solution that has some level of sudden death. There is nothing wrong with this OT format, just complainers that want fairness over core competence.

Re: The Playoff Thread

The problem in my eyes is, that in the past couple of years about every rule change benefitted the offense.

Yes, the Bills should have won in regulation and I won´t make a case for this game - or will I?

If you have games with mediocre offenses, the overtime is okay. Not great, but okay.

But there are some teams in this league, Chiefs, Bills, in normal form Bucs or Packers, too - when they win the coin toss you´re 80% sure they won the game.

Everyone (I obviously exaggerate) wants to see high octane offenses. Games that end 10:7 because of a great defenses are often called "boring".

Wanting more offense offense offense and then saying "you need to be able to play great defense in overtime" is, in my humble opinion, a case of "I want to have the cake and eat it"

Re: The Playoff Thread

KC is going to win the SB, Mahomes is the best QB with the best team around him left.

Rams would be my 2nd bet.

I think KC beats Cin by 2 TDS

Rams beat SF by 4
