Practice performance is a bit Schroedingers cat. It's not game day performance but until game day comes around its the best measure you have. All you can ask of a player in practice is to do their best, and if they do, that's good. You don't dismiss a players performance at practice just because it's practice.

I just think we need to temper expectations. Let the kid play in an actual game before we crown him the #1 corner.

If he was getting schooled right now I doubt the same people saying it’s just practice would give him the benefit of the doubt. He’d already be labeled a bust.

Agreed. That goes for looking good or bad, like Matty alluded to. Certainly doesn’t mean that is who he is gonna be on the field, but it is no doubt an indication that they have a big learning curve ahead of them. That is when you hope he has a good work ethic, and that we have a solid staff.
Anyway, What else is there to do in the offseason other than measure performance in practice and practice is all we got. It is a pretty good estimation imo, unless you are a proven vet.

Saw that we had interest in Kareem Hunt, I wouldnt be opposed to him coming in.

Man a couple years ago yes. Now, I support the youth movement unless they think the rookie isn’t ready.

Always like Hunt

Would be interesting. Not a lot of wear and tear as he's been splitting carries for a few years now; and not a concerning injury history either. He is three years older than A Gibson, but only has six more starts. I would be fine with it if they were to bring him in on a 2-3 year deal. A Robinson/Hunt tandem would be formidable. Where does that leave Gibson though. I don't see the need for both...trade / release?

I see Gibson being more of an x factor player this year, more lining up outside, reverses, etc

I think it's just doing the due diligence, Hunt would be a nice back up plan if Gibson or Robinson gets injured.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

Found this article on Saahdiq Charles. I hope he pans out.

Make no mistake about it - this staff LOVES Saahdiq Charles and will give him every opportunity to win a spot at LG.

They want athletes on the O-line and despite how many of you feel about Chris Paul, Charles is BY FAR the better prospect/athlete. Just needs to stay healthy.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread

Just hope the oline is decent this year. It would be such a travesty if Howell didn't have a lot of time to throw, especially with all our weapons. Eager to see if we sign anyone else before/during camp for oline.
