56Fanatic -- When the state doesn't have any witnesses willing to testify (because they settle out of court with Taylor) then it makes it really hard to convict him. Hell, from the evidence I've heard they had, Taylor will be sitting there laughing.

exactly the State can still persecute but without witnesses their case goes to the toilet just like it happend with M.jackson in 93 so don't worry he won't see no jail time.

Re: Sean Taylor?

I have a question and it may have already been brought up. But here goes. What if Sean goes to jail? What would happen to Washington with the cap and everything? Would it just free up some room or what?

$5.00 says he is guilty of the crime; $5.50 says he won't do any time at all. We'll see ST next year playing as a SKIN in XLI.

Roanoke, VA eh? I believe I'll be seeing you down there next year to watch Skins games at the new Wild Wings in Valley View.

Re: Sean Taylor?

You find me with a group of guys singing "HTTR!" off-key two or three times throughout the game along with arguing over best 'Skins player ever, complaining about Art Monk's HOF denial, making jokes regarding the demise of other teams personnel at the hands of ST and LA. See you there!

Re: Sean Taylor?

Yeah, I love Wild Wings (especially since my fiance moved from Blacksburg back to Lexington and I don't have a reason to go anymore). I got booted from the Blacksburg one during the Seattle game because I got up in some guys face who was just being a dick. The one they got is pretty nice for being in a mall. I was skeptical how it would turn out.

Re: Sean Taylor?

i think it is possible to go foward with the case without the victims approval, but with no cop witnesses and no victim testimony would make things hard...

Re: Sean Taylor?

What I thought happened is that the DA took statements from the three so called victims and then pressed charges and then they just changed them to three counts. If the three made charges originaly I would think that the intial charge would of been three counts. I'm not a lawyer so I'm just rambling on.

Re: Sean Taylor?

I'm not sure where you guys are getting some of this stuff, but the charges have been brought by the DA, not by the individuals involved in the incident. Any settlement with the alleged victims can only settle the victims' potential civil claims against ST. Such settlement would have absolutely no effect on the criminal case. The DA will still be able to proceed and will subpoena the testimony of the victims for trial. At that time, the victims must testify or face obstruction of justice and/or contempt charges. Furthermore, if any of their testimony differs from the statements they have already given, they run the risk of being convicted for perjury. Money may get ST a good lawyer, but he can't buy the testimony of the witnesses/victims.

Furthermore, if convicted of what he has been charged with, he is going to jail for a mandatory minimum of 3 years for each count. That's not discretionary regardless of his status as a superstar NFL player. The judge wouldn't be able to sentence him to less than 3 years for each count even if he wanted to.

Why don't you just admit that you are praying that he goes otherwise your receivers won't run more than 8 yards down the field.

Which Cowgirl fears the Grim Reaper more? Fairy Glenn or Patrick Crayton? Both were highlights...

Nahh man if something I don't like other teams missing their star players because when we beat them I don't want them to have any excuses of why they lost, I love great games and smashing football I played DE my hole life so I give credit where is do, even if the hit comes from the other team.
