Wow, I think it was Peter King who first reported that Shell might be back but I didn't think it would really happen. He definitely deserved another shot, kinda strange he didn't have that second shot much earlier.

Re: Art Shell to return to Raiders as Head Coach

I think Art Shell is extremely capable of getting a message to players. Look for the Raiders to have an actual scary side to them again. Love to see Lester Hayes as DB's coach. Is Collins staying in OAK? Anyone know who's set to be OC?

i think this is funny. not that shell isnt a good coach but he was obviously a last resort. wisenhut turned it down among countless others(so ive heard). it was like nobody wanted to coach that group in oaktown

Don't be suprised to see PR show up on their radar screen. He may fit in well them. Big arm to compliment the vertical passing attack. Not sure what they Oakland is willing to give up for him though.

It's not the group they are avoiding in Oakland, it's the friggin' owner. Al is still stuck in the 60s.

Re: Art Shell to return to Raiders as Head Coach

The raiders organization is little more than a joke. The fact that they were almost to the point of having high school coaches turn them down says quite a bit of where they stand. I'm saying nothing about the talent of their roster, I'm speaking of their front office and all that. If Art Shell can get a decent staff under him, and REALLY BIG IF the front office makes smart moves, they could be good very soon...dunno if those ifs will be satisfied though...it is Al Davis afterall.

welcome onebum

hard to choose between the fords, the bidwells and davis for worst owner... at least the raiders have two #1 receivers and a good power back.

Re: Art Shell to return to Raiders as Head Coach

You know the Raiders offered me their Head coaching job but I turned it down. I've got better things to do than be Al Davis's puppet.
