Stephen Davis
According to NFL.com the Panthers are probably gonna cut Stephen Davis in the next week. Do we have a use for him? I'd be willing to sign him at a league minimum. Any thoughts on where he might end up? Does he have gas left in the tank?

Re: Stephen Davis
no, he doesn't, he hit the wall, he's always been injury prone and its a wasted roster spot... plus he still thinks the skins did him wrong by not giving him 10mill a year.

http://www.thewarpath.net/showthread...=stephen+davis I think the answer is still a big fat no. He doesn't have much left. |

As far as him coming back to Washington; I don't think he has enough left in the tank to be productive. |

Re: Stephen Davis
I much as I liked Davis when he was a Redskin and feel he should retire a Redskin, I dont think he has a place on this team. we have Betts as the back up and Broughton will play a bigger role this year on short yardage, and if he plays well could get a few carries during the games.

Re: Stephen Davis
That ships sailed. He's done. he can't play anymore. It's a waste of a roster spot...
The short yardage back the skins should try and aquire is TJ Ducket who Atlanta is shopping in trade right now. He can probably be had for a mid to low round draft choice.

Re: Stephen Davis
I don't know that I agree that he's necessarily done. If you don't think he can do for a team what Jerome Bettis did, you're kidding yourself. He did have 12 TD's last year. I also remember hearing that Carolina wished they didn't put him on IR cause he could have played in the playoffs.
Stephen Davis is certainly done as an every down back, but in short yardage he still looks like a beast. Trust me, I was in Carolina this season. |

Not only that, where would Stephen Davis play in the rotation of backs we already have? There is no place on the team for him even if we could afford him, which we cant. Until there's a CBA we don't need to be thinking about signing anybody when at present we may have to consider cutting some players. |

Re: Stephen Davis
I like our depth at RB just fine. Plus, why pay a guy to sit on the bench with an injury?Davis was great, but he's way too injury-prone.
