How dost thou pay for thy season tickets?

Just wondering... for those who are fortunate enough to actually possess season tickets, how do you go about paying for them? Do you happen to have enough cash on hand to pay for them outright, or do you have to finance them somehow? I'm assuming most folks have to finance them one way or another.

I'm on the waitlist, and the Skins have already offered me seats in a few different spots (mostly club and other areas I can't afford), but I don't know how I would pay for them when I decide to buy them. I never have that much money on hand.

I signed up for the waitlist last year - in hopes that when my time comes I'll be able to afford the tickets.

If I'm lucky, I might get them by the time I retire.

I never really got why the wait list was so long. Everygame I go to there are stands with people sitting there asking if you want to buy season tickets. I dont mean the stands to sign up for the waitlist, and I only typically see these stands on teh club level. Of course they always want you to upgrade your seat, buy new Dream Seats, etc. Whenever they open up more seats they always give ticket holders the right to upgrade first before making them available to the wait list.

But as far as your question I always go with my dad. We originally had two tickets in the nosebleed that our neighbor had for over 20 yeras and was getting to old to go anymore. Then he bought club tickets I beleive after the first year the stadium was up. He should have purchased cllub tickets the first year the stadium was build, his brother did that and has a much better deal. He has a fixed price over the next ten years. My dads has an excalator clause in it, allowing the price to go up a certain percentage everyyear. He doesnt really have the money for them, I guess he just figures that as one of the bills he has to pay everyyear and budgets accordingly.

I just got my season tickets this year after more than 20 years on the wait list. I charged them to my credit card. My seats are up top in the corner of the end zone. It came to about 1200 for 2 season tickets.

Yes, I have been on it since I knew it existed. I remember sending them a letter when I was like 12 to get on the list. Back then there was no internet so it took a written request to get on it. I honestly didn't expect them this soon. I guess the way they keep adding seats in there along with some people dropping out over the past 10 years of losing has moved me up the list.

As for the guy who said they have stands set up offering season tickets at the games those are not general admission tickets being offered. Those are club level tickets that the average fan can't afford. The wait list is for General Admission seats.

yea, liek I said I only saw those stands on the club level only. 1200 for two tickets sounds like a good deal. The prices on those things keeps going up. I should check to see if my neighbor still has his season tickets and what he does with them. Hes had them for so long I bet they are pretty cheap. I think our seats are around 3400 for two tickets. Part of why we got those seats is for my mom when I cant go to the games. Shes in a wheel chair so it makes all the difference in the world to be able to bring her into a heated area.

oh, lol. And im assuming that 1200 doesnt include a parking pass. That another 200 bucks there. They have made parking so freaking expensive. Its $25 a game for our Orange/Blue Parking. I think orange is the color they use now. Whatever the club level and handicap colors are.

I liked it so much better when it was JKC Stadium, and all the colors were Redskins colors. Why do I want a purple and orange parking lot. We see the big fed ex banner everywhere, I think the stadium should have remained skins colors though. Even the rim on the stadium on the inside isnt Skins colors anymore. Frankly, im surprised that we have red and yellow seats and that he hastn made soem contract with someone to change them to.

I've been on the waiting list for 15 years. Sounds like I may be in luck in another 5 years or so...Yippee!

JoeCrisp, to answer your question, check the WashingtonPost classifieds online. Many times, I have seen people selling their season tickets they've had for years at face value. A couple weekends ago, there was an ad for two season tickets (taking over the contract) on the 35 yard line, lower section (Skins side) plus parking passes that were going for face... would have been around $1450 annual. Beats the crap out similar tickets for the Monday night Dallas game I've seen going for $499 each from brokers or on eBay.

$1450 is definitely doable. Hell, I've been known to drop more than that on a Friday night!

What the hell... as it gets closer to the season, is there anyone local interested in the possibility in finding a block of two or more season tix to go in on?

I would send them a letter/email each season asking for your place in the line, becasue it wasn't until I did that during last season that they then sent out a letter telling me that my wait was up. I wonder a little bit if they forgot about me and then saw how long I was on the list and decided to make room for me. I don't know how they keep track of the list or if thats possible, but it just seemed a little suspicous that I came off the list shortly after contacting them. So if you have been on 15 years I would definitely keep track of where you stand each season. They say the average wait on the list is 10 years which is total BS, but I would think at 15 years in you should be getting somewhat close. At least close enough to ask...

All this season ticket talk got me curious as to where I currently stand in line. All it took was a couple emails to tickets@redskins.com to get my current status. I'm #88,246. I was 103k+ last year. Moving up 15k spots in a year isn't bad, IMO. They said they "have a number of Club Seats available at this time". If I had the money right now and could get good seats, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

These last few years have been great for moving up the list. At this point though, with Gibbs back, id expect to be waiting for a while. You can pretty much always get the more expensive tickets. They send my dad offers all the tiem to upgrade to the suite level and crap like that.

I heard that when Gibbs and Co signed back on, 20k+ people signed up for the list. I'm glad I signed up when I did!

The 'Skins contacted me via postcard every other year about my waitlist number before I got my seats for this season. Yes, I'm nosebleed, two rows from heaven in the corner of the endzone, but IT IS HEAVEN finally having the seats. They contacted me last October telling me my waitlist number came up and told me I could purchase up to four seats. Only wanted two so they asked for $50 per seat down payment. Faxed it to them with credit card number that same day. The bill showed up two weeks ago and had five days to get it in. Mailed it from PA on Tuesday; they received it on Thursday. They give you seven days to get it in.
