If Brunell gets nicked up, and Gibbs shows the type of blind loyalty that he did in the '04 season, only under that scenario would I say they could be right. When healthy, he's more than adequate. But the slightest injury at this stage of Brunell's career seems to render him completely useless. Witness the knee injury in the second Giant game last year as evidence. Yes, there very well could be "Start Jason Campbell" threads if the Redskins falter tonight -- the problem is, there could be legitimate reasons to start those threads. |

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)
Am I the only one who's confused with the whole "Start Betts, Portis is the backup" thing? I mean I've watched a substantial amount of football in my time and I don't ever recall any team doing something like this.
For that matter I don't ever recall a team saying if their starting QB went down in a game, one guy would finish off, but if the QB was out for a while, a different guy would take over. I'm not saying Gibbs & Co. are wrong or crazy, I'm just saying it's all pretty new to me. That or I don't pay attention very well.

I just wanted to a get a headstart on this, just in case - shouldn't we star JC? I mean Brunell is all old and washed up.

Im soo boosted, guys. Do you realize one of the friendliest places for Redskins fans anywhere is Myrtle Beach. I've been goin to Coastal Carolina University for a month now and literally about 50% of the students here are from Skins' fans! It's great, the whole campus is shutin down baby! We're gettin wastttedddd and gonna riot if we lose.. GO SKINS

Re: 9/11/2006: Redskins (0-0) vs. Vikings (0-0)
did anyone see that GMC commercial on ESPN's pregame show...they showed #28's, in my opinion, most famous play...him jumping over a defender on a punt return on his way to a touchdown despite broken ribs...now I am pumped
