The Perfect Play
Watching the K.C. offense for the past few years I have come to envy their execution on the middle screen pass. They would consistently get a few linemen downfield with Priest right behind them, and Green would just dump the ball over the defenders for a gain of usually 20 yards. It is really a beautiful play being executed perfectly.
My question: do you guys think we'll be able to execute the middle screen so effectively? If so, watch out!

Re: The Perfect Play
The perfect play is the Annexation of Puerto Rico. Everyone knows that.
Either that or just hand it off to Zoltec.

It's a borderline gadget play because the idea is to not block the defensive line, dump it over thier heads, and have the big nasties blow up some LBs and DBs downfield. I have to imagine Portis would be even better at running it than LJ because it's all open field running. Could be good, but if the D Line gets wise to it, it wont go anywhere. |

Re: The Perfect Play
I think we could have great success with this play. Last year the team showed that they can execute the screen as well as anybody.
Plus, remember, all Santana is good for is catching a short pass and running behind blockers.

Re: The Perfect Play
I think we have PLENTY of players who could execute this play very well for us.
The linemen, of course...along with Portis, Moss, Lloyd, Betts all on the receiving end. The only problem with Moss is that he'll be in the end zone before the linemen get out to block for him. We could also screen the ball out to Randel El who can throw it downfield to Cooley. It should be a really fun season for us. |

Re: The Perfect Play
I think all the passes up until the last one would have to be backwards since you can't have more than one forward pass in a play.
I remember that in a college game a year or two ago the QB threw the ball and it was batted back to him at the line of scrimmage, so he threw it again to a receiver. He was flagged for an illegal forward pass.

Re: The Perfect Play
Any play that has Taylor Jacobs scoring a TD is a perfect play :p

Re: The Perfect Play
I think the only way TJ gets a touchdown is if he recovers a fumble in the endzone.
