Re: We traded for T.J. Duckett?
This is assuming Duckett wants to stay with us as a goal line/change of pace back rather than the featured back (25+ carries a game). Something he already was grumbling about with the Falcons. He might but I'm not banking on him staying past this year.

Re: We traded for T.J. Duckett?
I heard a caller on the Dan Patrick show today mention that there were a number of grumblings in the Atlanta area about trading Duckett. It's nice to know we got someone that the other team or fan base actually wanted to keep.

Re: We traded for T.J. Duckett?
I understand everyone's being cautious about this, but I couldn't be happier. We NEED a short yardage back. Duckett is one of the best in the league. I think we were all concerned about Portis' durability getting the ball 25-30 times in a game. This alleviates that concern.
I remember reading an article this summer where Portis had been talking about wanting Edgerrin James to sign with the skins to help share the load and keep fresh. That tells me that CP is going to LOVE this. That's not the case with every back as some guys see it as a threat to their job. If he wanted a quality back to team with, why not? Every single person I know who is a fan of other teams (cowgirls, eagles, ravens, etc...) all asked me the same question: How do you guys do this under the cap? To hear the exasperation in their voices is a thing of beauty. They just get this confused look on their face that's impossible to understand. Everyone worried about sending a 1st to the Broncos if we finish with a worse record has got to look at it this way: We put our money where our mouth is. Our front office had the balls to say TO A LIKELY SUPERBOWL CONTENDER that after everything is said and done this year, we will be the better team. How does that not psyche you up as a fan of this team? Lastly, Joe Gibbs signed off on this move. That's really all I need to know. Peace. |

Re: We traded for T.J. Duckett?
i have a feeling this will a great move... it doesn't seem to make sense given, at least what i thought, our depth at RB.
but i think the combo of CP and TJ will be awesome. |

Re: We traded for T.J. Duckett?
Duckett is an interesting pick up. I like it.
I'm sorry to the Laddell Betts fans, but the guy has been a slightly better Taylor Jacobs, injury prone and potential is all he has to show for three years. Betts has not impressed in preseason. Next trade: Laddell Betts and and draft pick to San Diego for Pro Bowl MLB Donnie Edwards. He wants out of S.D. We could move undersized Lemar Marshall to WLB and we would be strong again at LB. Cornerback depth will have to be solved in next years draft. |

Didn't we already trade our 2007 4th rounder for Lloyd?
Just wondering. |
