Two Bright Spots
I thought Sean Taylor and Lemar Marshall played exceptional football tonight. It seems to me that Mr. Taylor and Lemar Marshall are very quietly fighting for who's the face of the defense. Taylor's run defense seems to be almost as good as any linebacker playing for the Skins right now. And Marshall is holding his own in pass coverage.
Seperately, Sean Taylor laid the wood tonight! I can't imagine what our defense would be like these first two games without him in there. I honestly didn't believe he could get in the head of player T.O.s caliber, but on a couple of occassions T.O. heard footsteps and short armed a couple of balls. Kudos to these two studs on our defense. |

Re: Two Bright Spots
Sean Taylor is our best player. He is our best defensive player as well as one of our best offensive options at the moment. At one point I was rooting for our offense to go 3 and out so I could see him on the field some more. (and I obviously didn't need to root that hard). I figured he had a better chance of causing a fumble/int for a TD than our offense...

That was the question I was going to ask? It makes no difference how well they played if your'e going to give up the big plays.

Re: Two Bright Spots
it's too bad lemar isn't al wilson fast. when he has to run a seem with a WR, he can't keep up. not his fault, but the defense requires him to do it quite a bit.

Re: Two Bright Spots
Agreed, Taylor had an excellent game. Three bright spots, though. We punted very good tonight too, for what it is worth.

Re: Two Bright Spots
thatguy, if you understand marshalls lack of speed, why call for that coverage? no linebacker in this league can cover terry glenn 40+ yards down the field. and i am not bashing marshall, i think he should have made the pro bowl last year

Re: Two Bright Spots
Give Frost credit where it's due. We had to punt so many times, he got in lots of practice.

Re: Two Bright Spots

Re: Two Bright Spots
How about Rock's return?
That was the only bright spot if you ask me. |

Re: Two Bright Spots
it's just part of cover 2 that it can happen. it's painful to watch though, cause you know he's in a no win situation.

Re: Two Bright Spots
I am amazed at the number of plays #21 is involved in the tackle or "on the ball". he has incredible ball sense. It was good to see the Rock get the return

Re: Two Bright Spots
it was a good return matty for sure. made the score look a lot better than the play was...
i agree though, taylor single-handedly tried to give the O a chance to tie. brunell would have none of that and demanded that roy williams take the ball instead. lemar is the man too. rest of the D is pretty quiet. |
