Prediction: Coaching staff next year?
How many think both Saunders and Williams will be here next year?
I for one would not be sad to see the likes of Don Breaux and Greg Blache gone next year. One of Lindsey or Gray will not be back next year. I'm speculating we have a clash of egos on the defensive coaching staff. The Chicago boys Blache and Lindsey against the Buffalo boys Williams and Gray. The result - confusion within the defense. Of course, losing Clemons, Prioleau and Springs (and today both Griffin and Salave'A) isn't making things any easier, but a defense this bad? This is George Edwards bad. There could be a clash of egos on the offensive side as well. Saunders and Bugel, for e.g. Gotta love Buges and his passion for the team, but what has the Buges coached line really done for us? Has the O-line shown as any consistency over the last 3 years? This is all speculation, but anyone else willing to admit the possibility that having too many senior coaches on the staff is working against us? |

Oh god, I cannot believe people are crying for Gibbs, Saunders, and Williams head. This is the same exact reason why the Skins have sucked Donkey dick the last decade. We need consistancy, I think all three will be back. Saunders is great for this team, but it takes time, I knew this was gonna happen, the offense wont gel till late this year.

I'm not calling for Gibbs, Saunders or Williams heads. Only asking if people think both Saunders and Williams will be back next year. I do hope they are back. Its the supporing cast that I'm predicting will turn over.

Re: Prediction: Coaching staff next year?
The way our offense is looking, I think we'll keep Saunders from head coaching jobs, which is good. I'm curious how long till this team is handed over to Williams.
I really hope we don't lose Blache to someone. I think he's a highly underrated coach.

Until Gibbs' contract is up and or retires. I wouldn't feel comfortable with Williams as Head Coach right now...considering the big decline with our defense this year.

I bet Williams' first preference is to make Gray the defensive coordinator since they worked together really well in Buffalo (remember, Gray was the defensive coach Williams wanted when he first came to DC, but Buffalo didn't give us permission to interview him). The problem is how do you make Gray the def. coordinator over Blache (who is way more senior). |

The question is, do they really want to stay here?

Re: Prediction: Coaching staff next year?
Because losing gets old.. fast. We forget that few coaches have the type of loyalty fans do. This is their living, and losing doesn't help them get paid.
The thing is -- I have trouble blaming a new offense finding its footing. I also have a hard time thinking that Williams, who has run an incrediable defense since he's gotten here (and in other places) suddenly forgot to coach. I'd love to find out whats going on. I think the "too many egos" conspiracy may hold some water.

With defense, I maintain that what we're all seeing now was bound to happen. Especially with the D-line. The FO treats it as an afterthought -- grabbing has-beens, rejects, and one or two high priced free agents every 2 or 3 seasons like they're birthday shopping at the last minute for a relative they don't really care about. Renaldo Wynn? Philip Daniels? Brandon Noble? Joe Salave'a was out of football for two seasons for crying out loud! Honestly, what did anybody think was going to happen to the defense when you sign guys like these and hope they can hold the line year after year? They hit the lottery with Griffin, and said, "Great! The D-line's taken care of, now show me the list of wideouts..." This whole thing was a ticking timebomb -- and the clock is officially reading 00:00. |

Re: Prediction: Coaching staff next year?
the only coach i think could leave would be gibbs, however if he left the head coach will be either williams or saunders and the rest of the staff would be maintained. i think if we miss the playoffs gibbs will retire again
