Re: Jason Campbell
in all reality, it may be better offensively if campbell plays. We will be forced to shorten the playbook a little and forced to run the ball more. With his strong and accurate arm, a little play action down the field from time to time could get us some big plays.

Re: Jason Campbell
If Campbell is so promising, why isn't he in.......oh yeah, saunders doen't like him cause he doesn't fit his offense. Byron Leftwich throws deep balls to talented receivers on 3rd down after two running plays on 1st and 2nd. Leftwich threw the ball 90% of the time at Marshall, Campbell rellied on running game and solid defense at Auburn. I agree, Campbell has talent, but he musn't be a very quick learner if we haven't seen him once in two years. What was required of him at Auburn compared to the NFL is too much of a transition especially in a complicated offense. Campbell should not have been the guy drafted if we knew in advance that we would hire Al Saunders.
Chad Henne was just a suggestion, I am a huge advocate of investing in a franchise QB, and Campbell doesn't seem to be that.

Re: Jason Campbell
Impulsive is always looking to the backup QB, Smart is looking at the big picture. I agree we need to play campbell, but there is no sign that he is the answer.
I did not see the "swagger" that you look for in a qb when campbell played in preseason.

Re: Jason Campbell
I would still like to see him, especially if the Indy game goes poorly. Todd Collins? give me a break with that option.

Re: Jason Campbell
I couldn't care less about his release! As long as the ball gets there on time, that's fine with me. Look at Byron Leftwich. His release is slow, but he has a freakin' cannon! As does Campbell! HAIL from MCUSA!

Re: Jason Campbell
yeah chad henne is really the answer. UMMMM NOT! Play campbell to much invested in him not to. We need to see what JC has. another young qb just what we need.

Re: Jason Campbell
we invested two draft picks for Campbell ... let's at least see what he can do in a game (a season really), before we dismiss him. how can you say he isn't a franchise QB, or the QB of the future? ... you haven't seen him play!
let's be more levelheaded, and not so impulsive

Re: Jason Campbell
I would love to see JC be our qb of the future...
However, from all of the info coming from players on the team he is not ready/comfortable in the system etc. They are the ones along w/ the coaches that should know. For example, on the John Riggins show they have had on Sellers & Lloyd recently who have said Brunell is our guy. If he should go down, then its Collins that should play, not JC. I'm paraphrasing here of course. They said JC is improving....etc etc. Now if we rewind to our draft, alot of pro scouts were suprised at how high JC went. I heard from a couple that said JC is a long long way from being a nfl qb. They called him a "project." Lots of scouts have been wrong before and let's hope they are wrong about JC. So as much as i would like to see JC step in work a miracle, i just don't see that happening. I do trust the coaches on this one. I just don't think we have any better alternative besides MB at this point. Time will tell if our scouting dept dropped the ball on this one. |

Re: Jason Campbell
Zim, he's not in because Gibbs won't pull the trigger! Are you smokin', if so give me some! JC is the best freakin' option we have at QB! The only option! He hasn't been given the opportunity! How can you say he is not the answer! I know one thing, he's not the problem, and that's for damn sho! Dare I play the "RACE CARD" here? I've really held my tongue on that one! HAIL from MCUSA!

Re: Jason Campbell
You know you're right. I apologize. I'm just so tired of people writing Campbell off when he hasn't had an opportunity to perform! Preseason with third string players does not count! Last time I watched Chad Henne play, it was Mike Hart left, Mike Hart right, then Play action to Manningham! The Buckeyes will show you just how average Chad Henne really is! We don't need to draft another QB, just play the one we have! HAIL from MCUSA!

Re: Jason Campbell
Is Gibbs afraid of Campbell losing a game?
If he gives the Skins a chance to win, then play him.
