Blaming Snyder is really a tired excuse that doesn't hold much merit anymore.
Matty, we are usually on the same page when it comes to Redskins related thoughts, but I got to disagree with you here. Snyder sets the overall tone for the organization and since he has bought the team that tone has been a lack of patience, focus and accountability. It trickles down from the very top and other than the year that Schottenheimer was here it's always been 'his' show.

As much as I revere Gibbs, he is still caught up in the Snyder atmosphere that surrounds the team. This offseason, as much as I hate to agree with the mediots, was classic Snyder. They went out and got parts they didn't need (Archuleta) or don't fit (Carter) and screwed up what was working on being a good thing. ARE is a solid contributor and I think Lloyd, if thrown the ball, will be as well but the other players have unquestionably HURT the team.

Brunell is all on Gibbs because you know if that were up to Snyder, Campbell would have been starting a long time ago, but our problems are bigger than the QB position. We have no identity, no depth, seemingly no plan on how we are going to approach a game and leave with a win. Relying on 'talent' gets you to 5-11 in the NFL. How that can not be traced back to Snyder, setting the tone, and Cerrato, who runs the scouting department, is lost on me.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: Dear Mr. Snyder, PLEASE SELL THE TEAM!!!!

do i want an owner that spends every last bit of money that counts against the cap? or do i want the bidwells, who look at football as a business just to make money? Snyder's football decisions have been questionable, but i don't think anyone here can question his desire to win. there isn't a skins fan alive that wasn't thinking big things when Snyder brought back Gibbs. we probably need a legitimate general manager, making the personnel picks,a la bobby bethard in Gibbs first go round.

Snyder has said repeatedly that Gibbs has the final call over players.

I'd love to see some evidence to the contrary.

Let's ask Vinny himself

"The coach has the final say. We'll go through the whole process. We'll put everybody in an order. Then it will come down to the coach saying this is what I need or this is what I don't need.

Dan takes no say so in the player moves. He gives it all to Coach Gibbs. We all work together to come up with an answer and then the coach makes the final call. Like he says, somebody has to make the final call. He does.

He takes all the information and the thing that he does that's great is we go over it and over it and he asks everybody's opinion and everybody's opinion counts, from the trainers, to the strength coaches, to the scouts, to everybody.

He wants every opinion, every bit of information, then we'll make a good decision and he'll make the final call."

Re: Dear Mr. Snyder, PLEASE SELL THE TEAM!!!!

First we didn't make the radical changes on defense this offseason that I keep hearing. We replaced Clark with Archuleta and supposedly added the pass rusher we'd been missing with Carter. That's it. The biggest issue to the defense this year has been injuries. Second, are you saying that Snyder hired Saunders behind Gibbs' back? Ok, whatever keeps you happy I guess. Third, there is no comparing Angelos and Snyder. Angelos has his sons and son in laws running the team. Mike Flanagan is essentially a figure head there.
