Play coach w/ Randel El

Alright, we've got one of the most versatile players in the nfl on the redskins. I think the skins are using ARE pretty well. However, if there is a play or plays that you would like to see ARE called for him, let's hear it.

Mine is...

About twice a game i'd like to see ARE line up at QB. I'd like to see him hand off to CP about 5 times in a row while faking the roll out. I think that would draw some attention and at least throw the defense off a little. On the 6th time, fake the handoff w/ the option to throw or run. What's the worst that could happen?

What do you think???

I have to admit, it's intrigueing. Generally, the images I just saw in my head are replaced on the field by something out of an NFL endorsed Stephen King film. We don't seem to have very good luck in general with trick plays.

ARE is a very sexy player...his bomb to Lloyd was a very good toss (lil over thrown- maybe). He's got the ability to change any game..he needs the ball in his hands more...imagine what his presense would do to feel up santana or lloyd (can't focus on santana).

6 times is probably a bit much, but i guess it wouldn't really matter who's handing it off...

Portis, Moss, and Randel El are play makers. They should touch the ball as much as possible. Good things will happen. Having ARE on the field forces the defense to watch him like a hawk. Will he catch it, throw it, run it, the defense has to guess. Or, will he touch it at all and go deep with Moss. They have to focus on him when he is on the field, so we should take advantage of that. Pittsburgh did !

OK, cool!

"Hey, Randal! Drop and give me 20!"

Not as much fun as I'd hoped.

I bet he and Portis could run the option very well, even though it usually doesn't work in the NFL.

Remember Brunell trying to pitch to ARE earlier in the year?

Anyway, here's something you don't see everyday. If he's going to line up at Qb, why not run the old option with him and Portis?

Re: Play coach w/ Randel El

I think when we get Campbell finally playing I'd love to see ARE line up at QB and campbell out wide. Not that they would pass it but Campbell at least gives the appearance of athleticism out there.

I'd also like to see some direct snaps to ARE.

Anything to get the ball into hi shands creatively and make one more thing defenses have to cover.

Re: Play coach w/ Randel El

I was just thinking about a direct snap to ARE and roll out and pass to Cooley running a crossing route about 15 yds down the field and/or in the red zone.
