He has shown some promise but hasn't even throw for 200 yards in a game yet. I'm still in the not sure category.

I hope the fans give him a little more time since he is Gibbs guy. I LOVE what I see fom him now because I see the talent. He has missed some throws but he made the big one when it counted. That being said, I'm not totally sold on him yet. I was a huge Ramsey fan after his first game when he played great and look where he ended up!

wait and see. he still has a lot of accuracy problems to work out. the other stuff and redzone passing are fine though, which is encouraging.

Jason Campbell has struggled in his first two starts like you would expect ANY guy getting his first few starts to do. That said, he's obviously shown the poise and leadership to make be believe that he will fufill his statistical projection and be a great player for years to come.

I think theres an inherent difference between him and Ramsey. One obvious thing is that I think both his talent and expectations far exceed what Ramsey had to deal with. Secondly, I think he's in a much better situation. He's not getting blasted every play, and he has better coaching than Ramsey did.

Ramsey was an average starting NFL QB and I expect Campbell to exceed that soon. By this time next year, I feel the differences between Campbell and Ramsey should be clear.

Also it's important to remember that this guy is NOT some wide eyed rookie. He's a player who is deep into his 2nd season. Trust me, it makes a difference.

How much do you think the situation hurt Ramsey? I think it was the reason he wasn't a great QB. He had the arm, the smarts, and toughness to play the position. Playing in an offense that was basically not worried a bit about protecting the qb ruined his confidence. I will always believe that Spurrier ruined that kid.

In the latest issue of SI it says that Campbell is one of 4 QB's to ever throw for 2 or more TD's in each of his 2 first starts. The funny thing was that 3 of the 4 were Redskins. I think Rypien was one and of course JC.

I don't think it broke him. I don't think he let all the pressure break his confidence, and thats a tribute to his toughness.

I think what it hurt most was his learning curve. It was hard for him to make a week to week improvement back in 2003 because Spurrier was more worried about making his system work than he was about protecting his QB. I think Spurrier ruined his season, and retarded his growth...but I don't think he broke him as a player.

He didn't improve statistically much under Gibbs in 2004, even when I expected him to. I think he was just an average player with above average toughness.

Re: Jason Campbell the man or wait and see ?

ramsey's problem was simple - he didn't EVER throw over the top, every pass was a javelin thrown AFTER the WR got open.

he never anticipated breaks or threw arcs until gibbs came in. it's another example of an NFL front office falling in love with a guy's fastball.
